3FL Notes: S10: Week 12 Preview

You want parity? How about seven 3FL teams with exactly seven wins after eleven weeks of football. All three members of the 3FL West are 7-4. And all of the seven win teams have clinched a playoff spot.

We have two weeks of regular season matchups left to determine the last team to qualify for the postseason and to shake out the seedings. Let's start by watching a few Thursday afternoon games and eating some turkey...

Week 11 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: ray ray haw - 88 points

Player MVPs:
Aaron Rodgers (QB/GB) - 31 points
Ben Roethlisberger (QB/Pit) - 31 points
Drew Brees (QB/NO) - 27 points
Philip Rivers (QB/SD) - 26 points

The league scored 847 points in week 11, our fourth highest total of all time.

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 38/66 - 57.58%
League Voting: 39/66 - 59.09%
Yahoo! Projections: 39/66 - 59.09%

Week 12 Information

Thanksgiving Early: New England Patriots @ Detroit Lions
Thanksgiving Late: New Orleans Saints @ Dallas Cowboys
Thanksgiving Night: Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Jets
Sunday Night: San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts
Monday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 12:

ray ray haw (-1/2) vs. The Comfy Chair
It's a shame that our current #1 vs. #2 bout looks to be so lopsided. The matchups are really favoring the haw this week, but don't be too excited. Tom Brady is listed as questionable for today's game. Hahahahahaha. Yeah, we'll see about that. Sorry, Chair. This one will look a lot more even in the playoffs.

Lightning (-1) vs. Marauders
I told you Coach Hoss wasn't going to let his record stop him from having a little spoiler fun. After nine winless weeks in a row the Marauders took out a little frustration on the 'Morons last week and they'll be gunning for another playoff bound team in this one. We'll know a lot more about this game after their combined six players go on turkey day.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds look to start off strong with one player in each of the Thanksgiving day games. But the Brew Crew needs a win here or they could be out of playoff contention. They are looking for a prime time comeback and they just might get one with two of their best playing under the lights.

Renegades (-1) vs. Dumbbums
Can the Renegades handle another week of crossing their fingers on Monday night? It seems like they have been on both sides of huge comebacks and near misses more than their fair share this year. This one should be over before then and they might even clinch the final postseason spot (with a Brewers loss), but I'm thinking that the 'Bums are ready to have a little MNF fun.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
What is going on with the 'Morons? One week they score 100 points and lead the league, and a few weeks later they score the lowest total in the league by more than 20 points. The Vipers may end up with a tie (for obvious reasons) but I'll bet they're going for the win against a divisional foe.

And the game of the week...

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
What a game this will be. The victor will just about clinch our mirror division and get a top three slot in the playoffs. The Phi/Chi game on Sunday afternoon will likely tell the story, with two players from each side starting for the Eagles. But nothing is secure until FitzCorp plays their final two on Sunday night.

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck this week!

3FL Notes: S10: Week 11 Preview

Wow.

Thanks to Michael Vick's record breaking performance the league had its highest scoring week of the year. In fact, #7 and his Eagles teammates were the source of two incredible double digit comebacks.

Also, the 3FL West pulled off a different kind of trifecta last week - all three teams combined to earn a win against a team in each other division.

Week 10 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Misfits, Inc. - 93 points

Player MVPs:
Michael Vick (QB/Phi) - 46 points
Matt Cassel (QB/KC) - 31 points
Kyle Orton (QB/Den) - 29 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 35/60 - 58.33%
League Voting: 37/60 - 61.67%
Yahoo! Projections: 36/60 - 60%

The voting deadline for this week is before the THURSDAY night game! Go vote!!

Week 11 Information

Thursday Night: Chicago Bears @ Miami Dolphins
Sunday Night: New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
Monday Night: Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
Bye Weeks: Finished for the season

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 11:

ray ray haw (-1/2) vs. Lightning
The battle for supremacy in the 3FL North rests heavily on this head-to-head matchup. The haw have more points and the Bolts have more wins, but a rrh win would keep them undefeated in intra-divisional play and give them a leg up in the division. I'll bet Coach Haw won't sit Tom Brady this week...

Misfits, Inc. (-1) vs. Dumbbums
Did you see last week's game from the Corp? Do the same but with Sunday night replacing Monday night. Michael Vick won't score 40+ points again, but even the best of the 'Bums probably won't be able to take down the corporate giant. Then again, maybe it's Big Ben's turn to break a record this week.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
If you live by the ridiculous comeback, you just might die by the ridiculous comeback. And then have your K cut from his team. Just ask the Renegades. They'll try to put the pieces back together against the "set our team lineup 30 minutes before the game" Brewers. Odds are only one of these two will make the playoffs. Which one gets a head start with a win?

The Comfy Chair (-1) vs. Spiked Vipers
This looks like it will be a one-sided affair, but don't be fooled. The Vipers aren't looking for another tie and they have the personnel to win this one. Especially if the injured pieces of furniture end up not being able to play at all. That will change my pick, too.

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Marauders
This one just might end up as a tie, but who can pick against the 'Morons? They have won three in a row and just leapfrogged the Chair to take the top spot in the 3FL South. Meanwhile the unlucky Marauders are winless in their last nine games. The postseason is out of reach for Coach Hoss, but that doesn't mean he can't have a little fun being a spoiler.

And the game of the week...

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
Did you know that the Stompers are now the highest scoring team in the league? And yet they are in last place in the highly competitive 3FL West. Not for long. It's looking more and more likely that all three teams in this division are going to make the playoffs, but this game will go far in determining which seed each will be.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S10: Week 10 Preview

The Chair is back atop the league and five teams are now 6-3 after our first nine weeks. Jockeying for playoff positions is officially underway! Also, this week is rivalry week so things are going to be even more interesting than usual.

Thursday games on the NFL Network begin this week and run for the rest of our season, so make sure you have your players set for those games before they start. And make sure you vote on the 3FL games before then too!

Week 9 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: ray ray haw - 102 points

Player MVPs:
Green Bay Packers Defense - 28 points
Philip Rivers (QB/SD) - 27 points
Aaron Rodgers (QB/GB) - 25 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 31/54 - 57.41%
League Voting: 32/54 - 59.26%
Yahoo! Projections: 31/54 - 57.41%

The voting deadline for this week is before the THURSDAY night game! Go vote!!

Week 10 Information

Thursday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ Atlanta Falcons
Sunday Night: New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Monday Night: Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins
Bye Week: Green Bay, New Orleans, Oakland, San Diego

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 10:

The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The comfortable ones are back in first place after a week away from the top. With our history, though, that might not be a great place to be sitting four weeks from now. Last week the Preds finally made all the right coaching decisions for the first time this season. And lost. Who will make the right calls in this one? We do know that this battle will go end to end, as both teams have at least one player going in each NFL time slot.

Stiletto Stompers (-1) vs. Renegades
The Renegades finished up an incredible comeback on MNF last week but don't look for a repeat. Matt Cassel at QB and a couple of waiver wire RBs (because of the final MNF bye weeks of the year) are going to make things difficult. Plus Coach Bev's team looks poised for another high flying score in this year's twin billing. And with two players on Monday night maybe the comeback tables will be turned.

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Marauders
As if a 1-7-1 team needs a smack in the face, the Marauders have four bye week players to deal with in this game. And then they'll have to watch Vick and DJax put things out of reach for FitzCorp on MNF. But don't feel too bad for Coach Hoss - as of right now he is #1 out of 32 entries in our NFL Pick'em.

Lightning (-1) vs. Spiked Vipers
Like Hines Ward says - when you have two rivals playing each other you can throw out the records. Regardless of the standings this is going to be a great one to watch, and not just because of all the amusing smack talk leading up to the game. If only the Vipers had Drew Brees this week...

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
Our dim-witted rivalry week matchup could possibly be our best. These teams stack up evenly in all facets of the game and it will come down to Big Ben's performance on Sunday night to decide the outcome. Plus, the Baltimorons are playing against the Baltimore defense on Thursday. What else could you ask for during rivalry week?

And the game of the week...

ray ray haw (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
This has been one of the more enjoyable 3FL rivalries to watch in the past and it looks like the fun will continue. It will require a bit of paying attention to even out the matchups, but it should be a good one. Now if everyone could just get access to the NFL Network (and stay up that late) we could watch the combined six players from these two teams start things off.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S10: Week 9 Preview

Are you kidding me? Another Spiked Vipers tie highlighted an exciting week. We saw our first century mark score, a MNF stalemate and plenty of upsets to go around.

Plus, the 3FL West completed the trifecta last week, going undefeated against the 3FL East. They've now scored a perfect week against every other division in the league.

Week 8 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Baltimorons - 100 points

Player MVPs:
Matthew Stafford (QB/Det) - 28 points
Calvin Johnson (WR/Det) - 23 points
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense - 20 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 27/48 - 56.25%
League Voting: 27/48 - 56.25%
Yahoo! Projections: 26/48 - 54.17%

Go vote! (On all 6 games, Renegades)

Week 9 Information

Sunday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers
Monday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
Bye Week: Denver, Jacksonville, San Francisco, St. Louis, Tennessee, Washington

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 9:

Dumbbums (-1) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Stompers are going to be hit hard by the bye - five of their players are off this week. But don't give the 'Bums that second win yet. We'll have to see what Coach Bev conjures up before the weekend. A stomping might still be on.

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds are going to run out of luck at some point, right? Probably this week. All of their players are done on Sunday afternoon and they'll have to watch four of the best of the Renegades storm back. Jeff Reed will seal the deal with a kick on MNF and stop the streak of luck at four games.

ray ray haw (-1) vs. Spiked Vipers
The Vipers aren't going to end up with another tie this week. The haw will see to that. Brady against the Browns is just one of the great matchups rrh get to have fun with. Just in case we need it, though, you should know that Coach GooMoo is riding the longest tie streak in the history of the league.

Misfits (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
If both of the remaining FitzCorp Eagles are really back from their injuries then the Corporation should pick up another win this week. If not then we're in for a game. The Brew Crew needs to try to stay at the top of their division, so don't look for them (or Hines Ward) to pull up on Monday night.

The Comfy Chair (-1) vs. Marauders
The Marauders probably need to win out the season in order to have a chance at the playoffs. But they have to start the process with one win this week. A good first step might be starting a lineup of players with an actual game. But against Peyton they'll need some luck, too.

And the game of the week...

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
Here's our comeback of the week. The Bolts will be down a bunch going into the final game of the week but they'll have a good chance of pulling out a win. Of course that depends on which of the stockpile of 'Moron's QBs scores the most (and if he is in the starting lineup or not). And if Carson Palmer and the Steelers don't take away too many of each other's points.

Good luck this week.
