3FL Notes: S17: Week 13 Preview

What a week! The Brewers finally won, the Stompers scored in the top five all-time, and the 'Morons completed a MNF comeback to secure a playoff spot and make things very interesting going into our final week of the regular season. We now have three teams vying for our last two postseason tickets (and two of them play against each other). We're in for quite a finale!

Week 12 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Stiletto Stompers - 126 points (T-4th all-time)

Player MVPs:
Julio Jones (WR/Atl/SS) - 38 points
Antonio Brown (WR/Pit/L) - 30 points
Alvin Kamara (RB/NO/R) - 30 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 43/72 - 59.72%
Yahoo! Projections: 37/72 - 51.39%

Week 13 Information

Thursday Night: Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys
Sunday Night: Philadelphia Eagles @ Seattle Seahawks
Monday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 13:

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
Both of these teams qualified for the postseason with their wins last week but the South Division is still up for grabs to the victor of this matchup. No matter what happens here the league should be on notice regarding the late surge of the Stompers. They lead the league in scoring and put up 126 last week.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The Bolts have secured the top seed no matter what happens this week. Not sure why you'd want to do that, but whatever. This should be a good matchup and both of these teams have more reasons than usual to watch the Steelers on Monday night.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Marauders
It looks like Big Ben will get the start this week in the Marauders' last game of the season. He scored 61 points while sitting on the bench during the last two losses that eliminated them from the playoffs (while Dak scored a combined -6 as the starting QB). Hindsight is 20/20. Meanwhile, PEP could use a win to head into next week with a little momentum.

Renegades (-1/2) vs Yuengling Brewers
The Brewers finally won last week, breaking their losing streak at eight games. That makes 3 wins in their last 20 games. There is no other drama here since both teams will miss the postseason, but maybe the Brew Crew can start next year on a two game winning streak? Or not.

And the games of the week...

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
The Preds missed the 3FL playoffs last year for only their second time ever and they aren't assured of returning this season. They're in with a win here or a SpiVi loss, or if they score 15 more points than the losing HAW. None of those things is a given. And we'll need to wait through Prime Time to figure it all out.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. the HAW
WOW. It has all come down to this! The winner of this game gets a spot in the postseason. If SpiVi loses they are out, but the CAPS can qualify with a loss if they score 15 more points than the losing Predacons. Actually Coach HAW can still win the division or be left out of the playoffs based on this week's results. Crazy!!

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S17: Week 12 Preview

We saw multiple Monday night comebacks and two more teams punched their ticket to the postseason last week. That leaves half of the playoff spots still available with six teams still mathematically eligible to claim them.

It's going to be an exciting week full of drama and turkey!

Week 11 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Spiked Vipers - 103 points

Player MVPs:
Antonio Brown (WR/Pit/L) - 32 points
Russell Wilson (QB/Sea/SS) - 29 points
Keenan Allen (WR/LAC/M) - 27 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 41/66 - 62.12%
Yahoo! Projections: 34/66 - 51.51%

Week 12 Information

Thursday Early: Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions
Thanksgiving Late: Los Angeles Chargers @ Dallas Cowboys
Thanksgiving Night: New York Giants @ Washington Redskins
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Monday Night: Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 12:

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
These two teams have the same record and are second and third in scoring in the league (with only seven points separating them). This week their matchups are even too. The winner will secure a playoff spot and lead the South Division, so this is kind of an important one. Stay tuned for MNF to see how it turns out.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
There are a lot of red pixels spread across these two rosters, to the tune of six Qs, two IRs and one O. There are also a lot of Thanksgiving Day games on the schedule. And the CAPS' starting QB of the week is...Case Keenum.

Dumbbums (-1) vs. Yuengling Brewers
Doug Baldwin caught a TD pass with three minutes left in the Monday night game to give the 'Bums a week 11 comeback victory and a postseason berth. They probably won't need the Prime Time heroics this week, but with Le'Veon Bell and the Steelers D playing on SNF, that same story might repeat itself.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Marauders
The Marauders lost by just three points last week thanks to their QB's -5. (For the record, their bench QB scored 30. Ouch.) So now their only chance at the playoffs is to win out and get some help. The Bolts seeming indifference hasn't stopped them from winning or staying at the top of the league, so this should be a good one.

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
The Renegades are now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and they'll miss the postseason for the seventh straight year. So the only drama here will be what FitzCorp decides to do about the Ezekiel Elliott roster spot during his suspension (that lasts until our SuperBowl week).

And the game of the week...

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
Another week, another SpiVi high score. They've now put up the most team points in three out of the last four weeks. If this team started their unbelievable run a little earlier they wouldn't be in the predicament that they're in now. But they still have the slightest sliver of hope to play after week 13 and it has to start with another high-flying week against the Phenoms.

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck this week!

3FL Notes: S17: Week 11 Preview

FitzCorp started two bye week players and a WR who was ruled out of his game because of injury. They lost by almost 30 points. And in doing so, they somehow grabbed our second playoff spot. Whatever works.

We're back to divisional games and six more postseason berths are still up for grabs with only three weeks remaining. Here we go!

Week 10 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Spiked Vipers - 115 points

Player MVPs:
Cam Newton (QB/Car/PEP) - 38 points
Mark Ingram (RB/NO/SV) - 31 points
Robert Woods (WR/LAR/tH) - 29 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 39/60 - 65%
Yahoo! Projections: 31/60 - 51.67%

Week 11 Information

Thursday Night: Tennessee Titans @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday Night: Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys
Monday Night: Atlanta Falcons @ Seattle Seahawks
Bye Week: Carolina, Indianapolis, NY Jets, San Francisco

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 11:

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Predacons
Both of these South Division foes come into this game having lost their last three in a row. The only guarantee is that one of them will finally get a win and a boost toward the playoffs. Also the Preds are guaranteed to start all the wrong WRs.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
It's looking like the Bolts might not check their lineup again until the end of the regular season, but as of right now they're still in the top spot of the standings. The Stompers are the new leaders of the South and look strong this week despite their bye week problems. But will they put active players in the starting lineup?

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
Two of the past three weeks have ended with SpiVi going over the century mark and outscoring the rest of the league. It might be too little too late, but there are still 3 weeks to go and anything is possible. It all starts with a win here against a evenly matched opponent. Games from tonight all the way through Monday night will make it exciting.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
PEP completed an amazing MNF comeback last week as Cam Newton scored 38 points to give them a 1 pt. victory. He's on a bye this week, though. And the CAPS are desperate, clinging to the 8th spot as of right now. Advantage to the team that is starting Eli Manning I guess.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Things just got a lot more interesting for FitzCorp as Zeke declared he will drop the appeal and serve his whole suspension. That means he's not available until SuperBowl week in the 3FL. The Brew Crew has lost seven straight and would move up (down) the all-time list with another loss here. Which is not assured since the Corporation seems ok with starting bye week players.

And the game of the week...

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
Tonight's game at Heinz Field has huge implications on this matchup (even if Big Ben doesn't get the start for the Marauders). Then we have to wait until Prime Time for the conclusion, but it will be a good one. As long as the 'Bums pick up a kicker...

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S17: Week 10 Preview

The Lightning just claimed our first playoff spot and it's already Rivalry Week in the 3FL. We should be in for an exciting last month of the season!

Week 9 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Dumbbums - 104 points

Player MVPs:
T.Y. Hilton (WR/Ind/D) - 29 points
Carson Wentz (QB/Phi/MI) - 27 points
Alvin Kamara (RB/NO/R) - 24 points
Dak Prescott (QB/Dal/M) - 24 points
Tyrod Taylor (QB/Buf/L) - 24 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 34/54 - 62.96%
Yahoo! Projections: 26/54 - 48.15%

Week 10 Information

Thursday Night: Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
Sunday Night: New England Patriots @ Denver Broncos
Monday Night: Miami Dolphins @ Carolina Panthers
Bye Week: Baltimore, Kansas City, Oakland, Philadelphia

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for Rivalry Week:

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
Both starting QBs for these teams have a bye and their replacements will make it a close game. A lot of the outcome will ride on the Steelers performance on Sunday and multiple players in tonight's TNF matchup. And, of course, injuries.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
It will be interesting to see how the playoff-bound Bolts decide to approach the last month of the regular season. Their ticket to the postseason is already punched, so do they just keep a bye week K on the starting roster instead of dropping someone who might be useful later? That strategy might also be helpful if they don't want to stay in the #1 spot.

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Speaking of bye week players in the starting lineup, our top scoring team has put up 90+ points and won two in a row with starter(s) on a bye. Can they do that again? Probably not (with the Eagles off this week). The more interesting story will be how this whole Ezekiel Elliot scenario plays out. It could affect FitzCorp in the playoffs.

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
It hasn't been the best season so far for the Renegades but I'm sure they'd enjoy a win in our annual twin billing. They've got a shot too, depending on the health of their Thursday night WR. But if the Stompers end up paying attention to their bye week issues then it could be more of the same.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
The Brew Crew has now lost six in a row (and 15 of their last 17). Ouch. Their only win in the second half of last season? That would be during Rivalry Week against the HAW. It's possible that they can do it again this year, but even with the ridiculous run of injuries Coach HAW's team looks like they should bring their record back to .500.

And the game of the week...

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds have lost two in a row and their four remaining games are all against teams in the top five. PEP is heading in the opposite direction, winning their last two and taking over the West Division. But this should still be a great one. Every position is even across the board and it will come down to MNF. It should be an exciting way to end Rivalry Week.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S17: Week 9 Preview

We saw another one point game last week and the Bolts jumped back up into the top spot. Can they stay there? Would they rather not??

With six NFL teams on a bye again it will be interesting to see which players end up in a starting lineup.

Week 8 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Spiked Vipers - 103 points

Player MVPs:
Russell Wilson (QB/Sea/SS) - 34 points
Deshaun Watson (QB/Hou/PEP) - 32 points
DeAndre Hopkins (WR/Hou/SV) - 28 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 31/48 - 64.58%
Yahoo! Projections: 24/48 - 50%

Week 9 Information

Thursday Night: Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
Sunday Night: Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins
Monday Night: Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers
Bye Week: Chicago, Cleveland, LA Chargers, Minnesota, New England, Pittsburgh

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 9:

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Ten over two?!? Let me explain. I know that FitzCorp just beat the #1 team (even with a benched K). But things are getting real for our top scorers as Ezekiel Elliott is most likely perhaps probably maybe suspended again and they have a bench full of bye week RBs. Meanwhile SpiVi just outscored the whole league after a half season of underperforming. Upset in the making.

Renegades (-1/2) vs. the HAW
We all know how snakebit the CAPS have been injury-wise this season. But they just lost by one point last week because their WR threw an INT on MNF. Yikes. Something is clearly going on this season and the Renegades need to capitalize on the HAW's (un)luck and WR bye weeks if they want a shot at the postseason.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The Preds (as predicted) lost last week but thankfully they'll have Gurley back against the 'Bums. Also the matchups favor Coach Sinkerbeam's team thanks to Le'Veon and the Steelers on their bye. It would just be helpful if their QB doesn't score negative points again.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1) vs. Yuengling Brewers
PEP is on top of the West Division and has won four of their last five, but this one is all about how bad the Brewers will be. They are our lowest scoring team and have lost five games in a row. Don't look now but there is still enough time for them to break the record for longest losing streak before the end of the year.

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Lightning
The Bolts replaced the 'Morons the top of the standings after an improbable MNF game last week, but their luck won't continue here. Coach Drew has a good opportunity to retake the #1 seed with both Brady and AB on a bye.

And the game of the week...

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
I know we still have five weeks left, but this matchup could have big playoff implications. And it's going to be a good one as these two are evenly matched. The Stompers are second in scoring and they should run out to a big lead, but Coach Hoss has four players in prime time games for a push at a MNF comeback.

Good luck this week.
