3FL Notes: S22: Week 8 Preview

We're now halfway through our regular season and the Lightning finally picked up their first loss. And all four members of the East Division lost their W7 matchups.

There is another early Sunday game across the pond but thankfully only two NFL teams are on a bye this week.

Week 7 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Dumbbums - 120 points

Player MVPs:
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 35 points
Josh Jacobs (RB/LV/L) - 33 points
Kenneth Walker III (RB/Sea/P) - 28 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 26/42 - 61.90%
Yahoo! Projections: 24/42 - 57.14%

Week 8 Information

Thursday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday Morning: Denver Broncos @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ Buffalo Bills
Monday Night: Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Bye Week: Chargers, Chiefs

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 8:

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
These two have even records and an even matchup. The 'Morons get a few much needed stars back from their bye week, but FitzCorp has the RBs to earn a win (provided they are all healthy). It could honestly be the season's first tie.

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Stompers hold the longest current winning streak at four games. But it's looking like injuries to a few key players will tip the scale to the 'Bums (who would be pushed to W-3). Not bad after they were in last place just two weeks ago. It's going to come right down to the wire on MNF.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1) vs. Renegades
It's always a fun game when these two meet for house bragging rights. It's just a shame that it's not looking like it will be much fun for Coach Val this year. The Renegades need a big Thursday night to have a chance, but even then it seems like PEP will still have the advantage.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. the HAW
Hmm. These two underperforming teams battle in what should be a great game this week. They have the two highest scoring projections and it will be helpful for one of them to pick up another win. The CAPS start things off tonight, but it all comes down to a player from each team going on Sunday Night to wrap things up.

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
The Marauders unfortunate season continues. They've now lost six in a row and have the lowest scoring total in the league. Pair that with the highest points against and it's no wonder they remain in last place. A turnaround could start this week against SpiVi, though, with the matchups and bye weeks favoring Coach Hoss's team. But are they really starting the Steelers D against the undefeated Eagles?

And the game of the week...

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
It's our mid-season SuperBowl! #1 vs. #2 (in the standings and in scoring) face off in another even matchup this week. It really could go either way and it will most likely depend on what happens with those Qs by gametime. And if Stefon Diggs can complete the comeback for the Bolts on SNF to retain the top spot.

Happy Halloween and good luck this week!

3FL Notes: S22: Week 7 Preview

The lowest scoring week of the year (by 1 point) gave us some excitement and a little shuffling of the standings. Only one team was over the century mark and we're still waiting for an addition to the records page in 2022. Will that come this week?

Week 6 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Phys. Ed. Phenoms - 101 points

Player MVPs:
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 32 points
Ja'Marr Chase (WR/Cin/SS) - 25 points
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/B) - 25 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 22/36 - 61.11%
Yahoo! Projections: 20/36 - 55.56%

Week 7 Information

Thursday Night: New Orleans Saints @ Arizona Cardinals
Sunday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Miami Dolphins
Monday Night: Chicago Bears @ New England Patriots
Bye Week: Bills, Eagles, Rams, Vikings

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 7:

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Things are not going well for our defending champion. The Marauders have fallen into last place and have lost their last five in a row. That's more Ls (plus ties) than they had all of last season. Coach Hoss has a chance to turn things around this week, but only if FitzCorp doesn't replace their by week players before game day.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
It will be fun to watch these four great RBs go at each other. Tonight is important for the Stompers but SpiVi will finish things up on MNF. This is also a good spot for a public service announcement/reminder that players with an IR designation can be placed in an IR roster spot. Both of these teams have an injured reserve player taking up a place on the bench.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Renegades
These two teams have identical records and an even matchup this week. And neither has a player with a prime time game on the schedule. The slight edge goes to the Preds, but if D'Andre Swift isn't healthy this might end up as a tie.

the HAW (-2) vs. Baltimorons
The 'Morons are currently in 3rd place and the CAPS sit in 11th. So why the lopsided prediction? Because most of Coach Drew's top players are on a bye this week. Will he add/drop to up those single digit projections? Or just ride it out to retain his core? Either way it will likely end up doubling Coach HAW's win total.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
News Alert: the Bolts finally made a player transaction. And they'll have to make another one if they want to start a K this week. The 'Bums have an amazing set of RBs and this could be the upset of the week. But who would bet against the undefeated Lightning?

And the game of the week...

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
This one is looking like it could be a barnburner. Both teams are ranked the top five in both the standings and in scoring. Things start big tonight and there is at least one player in each time slot this week. And with five players in prime time (including a head-to-head MNF RB clash) it will take until the bitter end to decide the winner.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S22: Week 6 Preview

The HAW picked up their first win by outscoring the entire league and the Lightning continued their undefeated start to the season. Week 5 also saw the North Division teams all come out victorious while the West Division teams all lost.

Don't forget the byes start this week. Make sure your team is ready.

Week 5 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: the HAW - 130 points

Player MVPs:
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/B) - 34 points
Austin Ekeler (RB/LAC/tH) - 31 points
Patrick Mahomes (QB/KC/YB) - 31 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 18/30 - 60%
Yahoo! Projections: 15/30 - 50%

Week 6 Information

Thurdsay Night: Washington Commanders @ Chicago Bears
Sunday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles
Monday Night: Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers
Bye Week: Lions, Raiders, Texans, Titans

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 6:

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Renegades
This one is even across the board and it's going to come down to the bye week fill-ins (and the paying attention to to possible late injury updates). Coach Coaldog has a decision to make after falling to the bottom of the standings. Will the new Seattle QB replace the old Seattle QB in his lineup?

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Marauders
The Bolts are riding high with an undefeated record, the top spot in the league and the most points scored this season. But did you also know that as of this writing they haven't made a player transaction yet? It must be nice. Coach Hoss needs a win here or it's going to be a long road back to the playoffs for a title defense.

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds are starting their fifth different QB in the last five weeks and have scored 9 total points at that position all season. Jalen Hurts had more than that in the first half of his last game. This one should actually be close thanks to the RB differential, but the Eagles on SNF will decide the victor.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1) vs. the HAW
Speaking of the playoffs, the CAPS have made the postseason for the last 12 straight years. Last week's point explosion earned them their first win in convincing fashion, but they'll need to maintain that momentum to continue the playoff streak. Prime time games hold the key here.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
A QB duel highlights another close one this week. Justin Herbert just might give SpiVi a MNF comeback but it's really a shame how the bye weeks are working against Coach Nick. With a full complement of players this probably would have been the GotW.

And the game of the week...

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Our marquee matchup features two teams in the top four of the league and even projections across the starting positions. It really could go either way. A slight edge goes to the 'Morons because of the Stompers' injury situation (and lack of help on the bench in the case one of those Qs ends up inactive).

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S22: Week 5 Preview

Only the Lightning remain undefeated and we saw two MNF comebacks in a high scoring week four. We're now back to playing across the divisions until the end of the season.

Don't forget about another 9:30am game on Sunday from Old England!

Week 4 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Renegades - 118 points

Player MVPs:
Jared Goff (QB/Det/R) - 33 points
T.J. Hockenson (TE/Det/P) - 31 points
Josh Jacobs (RB/LV/L) - 29 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 14/24 - 58.33%
Yahoo! Projections: 11/24 - 45.83%

Week 5 Information

Thursday Night: Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos
Sunday Morning: New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers
Sunday Night: Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
Monday Night: Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs
Bye Week: None until next week

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 5:

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Our defending champs have had a rough go this year after winning in week one. They're sitting at 1-3 and have the most points scored against them in the league. The Stompers are looking to add to that total and put the Marauders on the wrong end of the Biggest Blowout for a 4th(!) straight week.

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds finally picked up a win last week thanks to their TE. They need to fix the QB situation, as 9 total points in 4 weeks is not good from that roster spot. Meanwhile the 'Morons have Josh Allen and Cooper Kupp. Those two might win this matchup by themselves.

Yuengling Brewers (-1) vs. Dumbbums
The Brew Crew picked up their first loss last week, but they're still second in the standings and second in scoring. And now they play the 'Bums, who have fallen to second-to-last in the standings and absolute last in scoring. It's not going to be pretty.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
How about those Bolts? They're our lone undefeated team and are averaging more than 100 points per game. And they have the highest projected total for this week, too. It will probably be a bit much to handle for PEP, especially with that roster full of red Qs (and other letters).

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
SpiVi is atop the West and have won their last three in a row. And things are looking good for them to extend that streak with the matchups working in their favor. Number one overall pick Jonathan Taylor has been ruled out for tonight's game and five players with a Questionable designation combine to make this an uphill battle for the Corporation.

And the game of the week...

Renegades (-1/2) vs. the HAW
The CAPS are still looking for their first victory and this one is going to be close. Coach Val's team has either been the top scorer or lowest scorer in each week so far. Which one will happen this week? The projections are just about even and it's going to come down to the FLEX player coaching decisions. And we'll all have to watch the prime time games to see if his two final players of the week can mount a comeback for Coach HAW's first W.

Good luck this week.
