3FL Notes: S19: Week 13 Preview

We're on track to break some season-long records this week, and with more than half of the playoff spots still available it should be quite a finale!

Here's to an exciting week full of football and drama and turkey!!

Week 12 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Spiked Vipers - 143 points (5th all-time)

Player MVPs:
Lamar Jackson (QB/Bal/P) - 42 points
Ryan Tannehill (QB/Ten/SV) - 31 points
Chris Godwin (WR/TB/SV) - 30 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 42/72 - 58.33%
Yahoo! Projections: 38/72 - 52.78%

Week 13 Information

Thanksgiving Early: Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions
Thanksgiving Late: Buffalo Bills @ Dallas Cowboys
Thanksgiving Night: New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons
Sunday Night: New England Patriots @ Houston Texans
Monday Night: Minnesota Vikings @ Seattle Seahawks

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 13:

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
SpiVi must have noticed that they dropped to second place in the scoring race, so they went out and posted 143 last week to retain the title for now. They can break the record for most points in a season with a good showing against the 'Morons, but Coach Drew is desperate for a victory (and some help) to vault his team into the postseason. Those two ties will obviously be the difference.

Renegades (-1) vs. Dumbbums
It is technically possible for the 'Bums to still earn a playoff spot, but it's not realistic. Even if they earn a win this week they'd probably need to score double our highest total ever to even have a shot at playing next week. Plus the backup to their backup's backup has already been ruled out of today's game. Ouch.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The CAPS took a step back last week after their ridiculous jump from last to fifth over the previous three weeks. They still look like (just about) a lock for the playoffs thanks to their point total but a win here would make it a sure thing. The Preds have been on the good side of the Biggest Blowout™ the last three weeks in a row (and four of the last five). That's not going to happen again with these even matchups.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
This could be a preview of SuperBowl XIX and will probably be our best game of the week. The Bolts cannot stop winning but they'll be facing a FitzCorp team that has already qualified for the playoffs and can keep up with our top seed across the roster. But with nothing to really lose or gain there is nothing to see here.

And the games of the week...

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
The Stompers currently sit in ninth place (and the first spot out) while the Phenoms are in sixth. But Mahomes seems to be back to full strength and Coach Bev is a big favorite to win there, which could flip flop these teams in the standings. Either way it's likely for the loser to miss qualifying for the playoffs. And it's all going to come down to a Stompers comeback on MNF.

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
This is a great matchup that also has serious postseason implications. Either of these teams is in with a win but might be knocked out with a loss and some unlucky outcomes across the league. Both have to hope to score above projections starting today, when Coach Hoss has two players going and Coach Brew has a starter in each of the early, late and night games. Do you think that was on purpose?

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck this week!

3FL Notes: S19: Week 12 Preview

Two more teams qualified for the playoffs after our lowest scoring week since the beginning of 2017. There are still five postseason spots remaining with only two weeks to go, and every team is still in contention.

It's the last week of NFL byes. Finally!

Week 11 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Predacons - 103 points

Player MVPs:
Lamar Jackson (QB/Bal/P) - 36 points
Sam Darnold (QB/NYJ/PEP) - 27 points
John Brown (WR/Buf/P) - 25 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 39/66 - 59.09%
Yahoo! Projections: 34/66 - 51.52%

Week 12 Information

Thursday Night: Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ San Francisco 49ers
Monday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ Los Angeles Rams
Bye Week: Cardinals, Chargers, Chiefs, Vikings

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 12:

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
This one is going to be close, with the matchups looking just about even across the board. The RBs tilt the scales slightly to FitzCorp but don't count out Russell Wilson. It's looking like we'll have to wait until MNF to crown a victor.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
In just three weeks the CAPS have gone from twelfth place to fifth. That's pretty impressive. A win here might bump them up even more, but it might also keep PEP out of the top eight. Even with that tie.

Predacons (-1) vs. Dumbbums
The Preds have been on the winning side of the Biggest Blowout™ for three out of the last four weeks, and they just took sole possession of the scoring lead. The 'Bums are in last place and are our lowest scoring team. These two played back in week two and the Predacons won (in the Biggest Blowout™of that week). All of this just means it will probably end up Dumbbums by 25.

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Another tie for the Baltimorons this season makes the playoff picture more complicated. The winning team here puts themselves in the mix for a meaningful game next week. The loser might have to start thinking about next year.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Renegades
So the 'Bolts have locked in the top seed and the opportunity to break the curse. Is that a good thing? Their roster this week looks like one that's waiting for the playoffs to start, but they might win anyway. That will only tinker with the postseason hopes of the Renegades.

And the game of the week...

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
There might be a different feeling going into this week had the Stompers taken a quick look at their lineup last week. It looks like they're starting a full lineup this week, but it doesn't help that Pat Mahomes in on a bye and that five other players have a Q next to them. Still, it will be fun matchup that will finish up on Sunday night.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S19: Week 11 Preview

It was an exciting Rivalry Week but we still have seven playoff spots available. Maybe a couple more will be claimed this week?

We're back to divisional games with only three weeks remaining. Here we go!

Week 10 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Predacons - 116 points

Player MVPs:
Lamar Jackson (QB/Bal/P) - 34 points
Daniel Jones (QB/NYG/PEP) - 32 points
Derrick Henry (RB/Ten/L) - 30 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 35/60 - 58.33%
Yahoo! Projections: 32/60 - 53.33%

Week 11 Information

Thursday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns
Sunday Night: Chicago Bears @ Los Angeles Rams
Monday Night: Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers
Bye Week: Giants, Packers, Seahawks, Titans

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 11:

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
In an entire year of fantasy football the Bolts have lost one game. One. So even if the projections are in favor of the Brew Crew you'll forgive me for still picking the Lightning. You too?

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Two weeks ago I mentioned how the CAPS were in 12th place but that they had a great chance to make the playoffs anyway. Well they've already jumped up to the 8th spot and they can leapfrog the Stompers in the standings with a win against them here.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Renegades
The West Division swept their Rivalry Week games and now two of them get to play each other. The Preds just climbed into a tie for the scoring lead but they'll probably need to figure out a WR3. And the Renegades have some Q issues of their own.

Baltimorons (-1) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
The 'Morons might be in 11th place at the moment but their week one tie might end up being important in our final regular season standings. They've also had SO MANY points scored against them, but it's not looking like PEP will continue that trend.

Spiked Vipers (-1) vs. Marauders
After four straight losses the Marauders are in last place with only three weeks to go. But that's only one game out of a postseason spot. They'll probably need a win this week to start in that direction, but SpiVi is averaging more than 99 points per game.

And the game of the week...

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
Fitzcorp is in second place after winning their last four in a row and they have a shot at earning a playoff spot this week (even though their best players are on a bye). The 'Bums still have a lot of Steelers on their roster. And it's not the year for that.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S19: Week 10 Preview

The Lightning have claimed our first playoff spot and earned a chance to defend the title. We should be in for an exciting last month of the season, as even our last place team is within one game of a postseason spot.

Can you believe it's already Rivalry Week in the 3FL?!? Don't forget that this is the bye week for six NFL teams. Six! Yikes.

Week 9 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Baltimorons - 112 points

Player MVPs:
Russell Wilson (QB/Sea/YB) - 41 points
Christian McCaffrey (RB/Car/B) - 34 points
Lamar Jackson (QB/Bal/P) - 27 points
Tyler Lockett (WR/Sea/SS) - 27 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 31/54 - 57.41%
Yahoo! Projections: 29/54 - 53.70%

Week 10 Information

Thursday Night: Los Angeles Chargers @ Oakland Raiders
Sunday Night: Minnesota Vikings @ Dallas Cowboys
Monday Night: Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers
Bye Week: Broncos, Eagles, Jaguars, Patriots, Redskins, Texans

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for Rivalry Week:

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
Sometimes you get lucky. Like when you score the 11th fewest points in a week but you play the 12th lowest point scorer. That low total is unlikely to happen again for FitzCorp (since they seem to have a starting K), but they should have little problem with PEP and their bench full of players on a bye.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
The Preds were on opposite sides of the Biggest Blowout™ in the past two weeks. Which team will show up against the Brew Crew? Nobody knows, but having both of the top ranked QBs for the week can't hurt.

Baltimorons (-2) vs. Dumbbums
I hope there is a watch party somewhere tonight, because these two have six combined players going on Thursday Night Football. After that they have a player in every other time slot too. It will be an excruciatingly slow loss for the 'Bums.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Marauders
How about another tie? This one sure could end up that way, with even projections across the board. This one will come down to the prime time games and the performance of their bye week fill in QBs.

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Our favorite Rivalry Week matchup won't disappoint this year. The two teams in this twin billing are separated by only one game in the standings and their teams are equally affected by this week's schedules. We'll just have to wait and see if Bell and/or Mahomes are active on Sunday.

And the game of the week...

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
It's our top ranked team against our top scoring team. And amazingly the half dozen teams on a bye aren't causing too many problems in this one. It's going to be a good matchup and nothing will be decided until prime time. It should be an exciting way to end Rivalry Week!

Good luck this week.
