Get your team set for the last of our first round of intra-divisional games until the final three weeks of the season.

Week 2 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: the HAW - 135 points

Player MVPs:
Aaron Jones (RB/GB/tH) - 40 points
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/MI) - 33 points
Dak Prescott (QB/Dal/R) - 32 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 7/12 - 58.33%
Yahoo! Projections: 9/12 - 75%

Week 3 Information

Thursday Night: Miami Dolphins @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ New Orleans Saints
Monday Night: Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens
Bye Week: None until week 5

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 3:

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
The Yahoo! draft analysis folks are looking like geniuses. The 'Morons have followed their predictions, going winless so far and scoring our lowest total after the first two weeks. They need to right the ship quickly but playing against Pat Mahomes on MNF might not be the best spot to do that.

Misfits, Inc (-1) vs. Lightning
The North could be our toughest division and the Bolts have not done themselves any favors so far. And injuries were added to the insults last week, putting them in an even worse spot. Barkley, Kittle, Chark and Shepard all in one week. Ouch.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Marauders
These teams are headed in opposite directions, with the Preds winning their last three and the Marauders losing their last five straight. That trend is projected to continue but it won't be easy with  a combined six WRs with a red Q beside their names.

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
It's still early, but PEP could really use a win to turn things around and keep up in the South. It looks like Joe Burrow will lead the team against Lamar Jackson and the Stompers. Perhaps a victory will have to wait until next week.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. the HAW
Our two top scoring teams face off in what should be a high flying affair. SpiVi has been flying high so far, earning the biggest blowout of the week in both weeks this season. Can they do it again? Probably not, especially with that bench of injuries. But the CAPS have #1 pick injury worries of their own.

And the game of the week...

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The winner of this matchup will take control of the West division and go 3-0 to start the year. It's projected to be even across the rosters and personnel decisions might be the difference. Stay tuned - things won't be decided until Monday night.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S20: Week 2 Preview

Football is back and we saw a little bit of everything in week one! Some personnel decisions were a little difficult thanks to a lack of preseason games, but we'll all continue learning as we go.

Week 1 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Spiked Vipers - 124 points

Player MVPs:
Russell Wilson (QB/Sea/SV) - 32 points
Josh Jacobs (RB/LV/SS) - 31 points
Davante Adams (WR/GB/P) - 27 points
Lamar Jackson (QB/Bal/SS) - 27 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 3/6 - 50%
Yahoo! Projections: 3/6 - 50%

Week 2 Information

Thursday Night: Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Sunday Night: New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks
Monday Night: New Orleans Saints @ Las Vegas Raiders
Bye Week: None until week 5

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 2:

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Someone needs to explain to me how Pat Mahomes and the Brew Crew scored the second lowest total in the league last week. FitzCorp can hope for a repeat of that but I'm pretty sure the script gets flipped and the Corporation will need to outperform expectations to keep up.

Spiked Vipers (-1) vs. Baltimorons
So I warned you about SpiVi this season, and Yahoo! warned you about the 'Morons. The Vipers outscored everyone in week one and put up almost two-and-a-half times more points than Coach Drew's team. Perhaps this one will be closer than that, but it won't be close.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Lightning
Neither of these teams had the start to the season that they wanted. But now things get more serious as the loser here will end up in last place in the North and 0-2 in the division. George Kittle's knee could hold the key.

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Marauders
As of this writing all three starting WRs (and one bench WR) are questionable for the Marauders this week. That has to give the edge to Coach Val's team in this matchup. Even if one of her bench players is officially out for the season.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The 'Bums looked strong on opening weekend, scoring our second highest total despite having an injured James Conner put up a goose egg. Things will get tougher this week against PEP but it will probably come down to the other Steelers players' performances on Sunday afternoon.

And the game of the week...

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The winner of this game will take early control in the South division. It looks just about even across the rosters but Lamar Jackson can push any team to a victory. There's a player in every time slot this week so it's going to be a marathon.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S20: Week 1 Preview

Will we get through the whole NFL season? Can Misfits, Inc. repeat as SuperBowl champions? Will this year be even crazier than a usual one?? Only the 20th 3FL season will have these answers.

20 YEARS! Now that's already crazy.

It all starts tonight. Get your team ready to go!

Week 1 Information

Thursday Night: Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs
Sunday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Rams
Monday Night Early: Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Giants
Monday Night Late: Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos
Bye Week: None until week 5

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 1:
The first week is always the toughest to predict, but here goes...

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
The Brew Crew looks to get off to a fast start tonight, with Mahomes and the KC Defense kicking off the new season. But will their Qs be able to play on Sunday? That could be the difference.

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
These two West division teams are projected to end up in the bottom three of the standings according to the post-draft projections. I'm not so sure about that. Especially if Big Ben is all the way back and if Tom and the kids perform to their potential.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The teams with the top two drafts (according to Yahoo!) will face off to see which draft was actually better. But seriously, the CAPS look strong in our first weekend. It will be up to Lamar Jackson to try to carry the Stompers to victory.

Misfits, Inc. (-1) vs. Baltimorons
FitzCorp begins their title defense against Drew Brees and the 'Morons. The Corporation should cruise to their first victory of the year, but they'll have to root against some Eagles in the process.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Predacons
It's really a shame that these two have to face off in week one after picking right next to each other in the draft. It will be an even matchup throughout the week, starting tonight and ending with whichever Steelers WR puts up more points on MNF.

And the game of the week...

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Lightning
This game kicks off tonight and ends up with a Saquon Barkley comeback attempt for the Bolts in the early MNF matchup. It's almost too close to call between these two long time rivals, with the defensive matchups giving SpiVi a slight edge.

Good luck in Week 1 and for the rest of Season 20!

3FL Notes: 2020 Draft Analysis

Eleven of our twelve teams were represented during the online draft on Thursday night. Here is an analysis of the results (in draft order):

1. the HAW: With the first pick the CAPS selected the consensus #1 pick Christian McCaffrey. They also received the (unsponsored this season) Best Draft™ award, despite selecting two TEs and a guy on the COVID-19 list. Grade: B+ (Yahoo! Grade: A-)

2. Dumbbums: The second pick spot didn't go as well as the first. Yahoo! gave the 'Bums the Worst Draft (no trademark or sponsorship) grade. I don't actually think the team is that bad. But they will lean heavily on the Steelers Offense. Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: D+)

3. Lightning: The Bolts were unable to attend the draft this year so we couldn't watch all the picks that made sense to a spreadsheet. The team that was autodrafted is just ok. First move would be to drop one of the extra TEs or DEFs to get some help at WR3. Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: C)

4. Spiked Vipers: This team looks really good. SpiVi did their patented early defense selection, but the rest of the team ended up solid all around. This is my pick for the team to beat this year. Grade: A- (Yahoo! Grade: B)

5. Baltimorons: Yahoo! was not nice to the 'Morons with their draft assessment. And I usually think things are better than the automated insights, but this team is not great. Seems like things got jammed up early and they had to scramble to fill some important spots. Grade: D (Yahoo! Grade: D+)

6. Yuengling Brewers: Seems like the Brew Crew went with Eagles, Chiefs and former Nittany Lions this year. But that's all good if you have Patrick Mahomes. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: C)

7. Misfits, Inc.: The defending champions look a little different than usual. Their draft this year featured late QBs, an early DEF and K, and not a single Eagle. But the overall results seem to be the same. Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: B)

8. Marauders: It seems like Coach Hoss selected every rookie available in the draft. Four Marauders have never played an NFL game. On the other side of things, Tom Brady has played 285. But maybe all of those players will surprise everyone. Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: C)

9. Stiletto Stompers: A solid draft strategy was implemented perfectly by the Stompers, and their team ended up strong and well rounded. Also, it's hard to bet against Lamar Jackson, no? Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: B+)

10. Renegades: The top half of the Renegades draft looks good, and the bottom half is full of players who could turn out way better than their ADP would have you believe. You can't expect much more than that from the 10 spot, especially when drafting right next to your housemate for the second straight year. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B)

11. Phys. Ed. Phenoms: It's the usual turn of events for PEP. Good team. Solid starters. Good strategy with the next to last pick. They just need to hope that nobody gets hurt. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B-)

12. Predacons: It was pretty clear that the Preds were not used to being at the end of the draft order. The overall team ended up fine, but things look way different than usual. Most of the season will probably involve picking between two players with equal projections. Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: B)

The Comm-nosticator makes his first predictions soon. Stay tuned.
