In the first three weeks of the season our league has scored the third-most, fourth-most and second-most (in that order) weekly point totals of all time. Where will things go from here?
Remember that the byes are starting for real this week. They'll play a part in everyone's strategy until just about the end of the regular season!
Week 3 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Predacons - 120 points
Player MVPs:
Matt Ryan (QB/Atl/M) - 42 points
Drew Brees (QB/NO/P) - 37 points
Cam Newton (QB/Car/YB) - 30 points
Predictions Tally
The Comm-nosticator: 12/18 - 66.67%
Yahoo! Projections: 12/18 - 66.67%
Week 4 Information
Thursday Night: Minnesota Vikings @ Los Angeles Rams
Sunday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Monday Night: Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos
Bye Week: Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 4:
Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
SpiVi is undefeated and atop the 3FL after our first three weeks. But the matchups aren't looking great for them this week, FitzMagic is running out, and Christian McCaffrey is on a bye. The door is open for the 'Morons.
the HAW (-1) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Remember a few weeks ago when Duracell was giving out the Best Draft award to the Stompers? Yikes. Since then they are our only winless team and the only team to have scored fewer than 200 points. Aaron Rodgers will snap them out of it soon, but not this week.
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
There are a lot of red letters beside names in this matchup. And the Bolts had a guy just walk away from his team this week. A lot depends on the prime time games as the 'Bumbs will have to mount a comeback.
Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1) vs. Marauders
After a great first week PEP has underperformed in two straight games. They're projected to score in double digits again, though. And this one features a LOT of Steelers.
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Predacons
Fitzcorp is the top scoring team in our league but owns a losing record so far. That can change this week, as the Preds are due for a loss after a lucky start to the season. It will be amusing when these two both have bench QBs that outscore their starting QBs.
And the game of the week...
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Last week Coach Val saw her rookie RB get tossed out of his game before halftime
and her franchise QB tear his ACL. And how long can she wait on the
Le'Veon Bell situation? Meanwhile, the Brew Crew has had way more points
scored against them than any other team. This one will be close with an
opportunity for a MNF comeback.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S18: Week 3 Preview
Week two gave us four team scores above 100 points and two more additions to the records page. Get ready for the last of our first set of intra-divisional games until the end of the season!
Week 2 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Yuengling Brewers - 131 points (2nd all-time)
Player MVPs:
Ben Roethlisberger (QB/Pit/D) - 35 points
Kirk Cousins (QB/Min/MI) - 32 points
Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB/TB/SV) - 30 points
Predictions Tally
The Comm-nosticator: 9/12 - 75%
Yahoo! Projections: 9/12 - 75%
Week 3 Information
Thursday Night: New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns
Sunday Night: New England Patriots @ Detroit Lions
Monday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bye Week: None until week 4
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 3:
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
It's tough when your team scores 110 points but loses the game, especially if you have the highest scoring player of the week sitting on the bench. That was FitzCorp last week. Mahomes will get the start against the Bolts but the final outcome may be the same.
Predacons (-1/2) vs. Renegades
The Preds under performed last week but still managed to squeak by the Bolts to take the top spot in the North. They'll have another close divisional matchup on their hands here, starting with opposing Ds tonight.
Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Coach Bev's squad is not off to a great start this year. They lost their first two games (and five in a row dating back to the beginning of last year's playoffs) and have scored the lowest point total in the league. All of this with Aaron Rodgers. They've got a shot to win this week but who knows?
the HAW (-1/2) vs. Marauders
These two teams have the same record but their point differential is 85 - after just two weeks! The Marauders will try to keep up and a lot of that will depend on Dalvin Cook's health.
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
What is going on with the Brew Crew? First they were online for most of the draft, and now they have scored the second highest weekly total in our history. Look out, winless Dumbbums.
And the game of the week...
Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
We've got some great games lined up for this week and this might be the best one of them all. Our current #1 team faces off against PEP in an even battle that will depend heavily on the prime time matchups. One third of their combined players are scheduled after dark.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S18: Week 2 Preview
Opening weekend had a little bit of everything (except for close games). Week two is looking like it will be even more entertaining!
Week 1 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Phys. Ed. Phenoms - 130 points (2nd all-time)
Player MVPs:
Tyreek Hill (WR/KC/tH) - 34 points
Alvin Kamara (RB/NO/P) - 33 points
Drew Brees (QB/NO/P) - 28 points
James Conner (RB/Pit/PEP) - 28 points
Predictions Tally
The Comm-nosticator: 6/6 - 100%
Yahoo! Projections: 6/6 - 100%
Wow. That's a good start to the season.
Week 2 Information
Thursday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday Night: New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys
Monday Night: Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears
Bye Week: None until week 4
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 2:
Marauders (1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
These two teams would have tied at 57 last week. That's not very many. Things will get better but having their two best players listed as questionable isn't good news for the Stompers.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. the HAW
This one is going to be a good matchup by two familiar foes. SpiVi has a lot of doubt on their bench, but their starters are favored by a couple. The winner goes one up in the West Division.
Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
PEP scored the second highest weekly total of all time last week and they don't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. This SuperBowl XVII rematch will be a good game but it will probably have the opposite outcome as the one from last December.
Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Both of these teams scored in the sixties last week but they'll put up more points here. The biggest question mark for each team is a Steeler - for the 'Bums it's Big Ben's elbow and for the 'Gades it's if Le'Veon Bell will ever, you know, show up.
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
These two are evenly matched up and down the roster and are actually projected to tie this week. That's not out of the question. FitzCorp gets things started tonight and then it will be all over before MNF even starts.
And the game of the week...
Predacons (-1/2) vs. Lightning
This one will determine the early leader in the North. Both teams looked pretty strong last week (even with a -3 from the Preds D). They match up well here but Fournette's injury tilts the advantage away from the Bolts.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S18: Week 1 Preview
Can the Baltimorons win another SuperBowl title? Will your top players even be active for week one? Will anyone notice that the blog has been completely redesigned? Only the 3FL season will have these answers.
It all starts tonight. Get your team ready to go!
Make sure you check your team's logo when you have a chance. Yahoo! has replaced the default logo helmet and the colors have changed as well. Or you could just use your custom logo...
Week 1 Information
Thursday Night: Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday Night: Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers
Monday Night Early: New York Jets @ Detroit Lions
Monday Night Late: Los Angeles Rams @ Oakland Raiders
Bye Week: None until week 4
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 1:
The first week is always the toughest to predict, but here goes...
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
This matchup looks like a good one to start the season. These two are pretty even across the board and it will be fun to watch the 'Bums with a player in each available NFL time slot.
Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Stompers sure do have a lot riding on tonight's game. And they also have Aaron Rodgers. But nobody around here is going to reap the benefits of Le'Veon Bell's holdout more than the newest PEPer James Connor. Oh and they have Tom Brady too.
Predacons (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
Coach Drew comes into this season ready to defend the title for the fourth time. The Preds (defending champions zero times) weren't given a great draft score or season prediction, but they're looking pretty good for this week.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
The RBs favor the Marauders, but pretty much every other position is an advantage for SpiVi. The LA Rams Defense should seal things up but maybe not until 1:30am EDT.
Lightning (-1) vs. Renegades
It seems like the Bolts can sleepwalk through our opening week. Not only because of their A- grade draft picks, but also because the Renegades have only one if their original three RBs actually available to play in a game.
And the game of the week...
the HAW (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
Could we see a tie in our opening week? These two will give us a chance. They match up perfectly and that means both coaches will have to stay up late on Monday night to see if Gurley and Cooks can complete the CAPS comeback.
Good luck in Week 1 and for the rest of Season 18!

3FL Notes: 2018 Draft Analysis
For the first time in recent memory ALL 12 of our teams were represented during the online draft on Thursday
night. Here is an analysis of the results (in draft order):
1. the HAW: The consensus number one pick went to the CAPS for the second year in a row and then they disregarded ADP for the next ten rounds. Their team turned out ok but I've never heard of anyone on the bench. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: C-)
2. Spiked Vipers: Antonio Brown was a slight surprise as the second pick, but an early defense and kicker are pretty much expected from SpiVi at this point. The injured Eagles might pose a problem early on. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B)
3. Misfits, Inc.: Yahoo post-draft calculations are projecting a last place finish and only three total wins this year for FitzCorp. I'm not so sure about that. But I do know that there aren't any E-A-G-L-E-S on the team to root for (yet). Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: C-)
4. Renegades: Speaking of projections, the bots at Yahoo! didn't like Coach Val's draft one bit. I don't know that I've ever seen a D grade on an automated analysis report card. She disagrees with that letter but will need to wait on Le'Veon to save the day. Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: D+)
5. Marauders: Their starting RBs are formidable and their starting WRs aren't too shabby. If they can get some luck out of their QBs, this team is going to be sneaky good. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: C+)
6. Stiletto Stompers: Coach Bev reached way down to make Aaron Rodgers her first round pick and then selected a TE in the third. And she also won the Duracell® Best Draft. I'm not seeing it, but the highest paid player in the league could prove me wrong. Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: A-)
7. Predacons: The Preds started out well but ended up with their usual middle-of-the-pack kind of team. They just better hope the Saints play well on both sides of the ball. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: C)
8. Baltimorons: For drafting on a mobile device in a car on the highway, the 'Morons did a respectable job. Saquon looks like the real deal but there will be excruciating coaching decisions to make every single week. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: C+)
9. Yuengling Brewers: The Brew Crew was live and online with us for many of the middle rounds of the draft this year. Well, someone was signed in to their account anyway. Either way, this team has a pretty solid starting roster as soon as everyone is healthy. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B)
10. Phys. Ed. Phenoms: The draft was a good first step to get PEP back to the SuperBowl. They are strong at WR, they have Tom Brady, and Mark Ingram will bolster their backfield starting in week five. Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: B)
11. Lightning: Ok, fine. This team looks pretty good. I shockingly agree with Yahoo! here and think the Bolts are poised for a great season. It's a very even squad. Grade: A- (Yahoo! Grade: A-)
12. Dumbbums: Coach Coaldog was reminded about the draft about 45 minutes before it began, but maybe that was a good thing. Big Ben and Gronk lead a true bunch of dumb bums. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B)
The Comm-nosticator makes his first predictions soon. Stay tuned.
