3FL Notes: S15: Week 15 (Semifinals) Preview

WOW. If I wasn't watching the MNF game I wouldn't have believed it. Odell Beckham, Jr. brought the Marauders all the way back into a tie with FitzCorp, and we had to go to the second tiebreaker to determine our winner. The semifinals should be just as exciting.

All individual team pages (see links on the sidebar) and the 3FL Records have been updated and show statistics through the end of the 2015 regular season. This year's additions to the records page are in bold. Through 1,188 regular season games we have scored a combined 144,621 points.

Don't forget about the Saturday night game this week (in addition to Thursday night). Make sure your lineup is set.

Semifinal Games
(Winners play in 3FL SuperBowl XV, losers play for 3rd Place)

#1 Phys. Ed. Phenoms vs. #5 Predacons
The Phenoms continue to roll this year even though they did get a scare from the Brew Crew last week. Let's use this space to remind everyone that Coach GregW is in his first season at the helm of a team. He has also won eight straight games and doesn't have a loss since the first week of the season. They are the top seed and seemingly the team of destiny. The Preds have been to the semis eight times in fifteen seasons. And both of these teams have the same amount of 3FL titles.

#2 Baltimorons vs. #3 Marauders
After a little mid-season hiccup, the 'Morons are back to full steam. They ended up with the highest point total in the regular season and have outscored the rest of the league the last two weeks in a row. Can they make it three? The Marauders saw an exciting MNF comeback end with a tiebreaker and a shot at another SuperBowl birth. Can they do it again? If so it will have to be Michael Floyd on Sunday night instead.

Consolation Games
(Winners play for 5th Place, losers play for 7th)

#6 Misfits, Inc. vs. #7 Lightning
One yard. That's the difference between FitzCorp still being in the championship bracket and playing here instead. Or one missed field goal. Take your pick. Either way the hard luck continues for the Corporation for a fifteenth straight season. The Bolts ended up at the wrong end of the biggest blowout for a second straight week. That's not a good thing to have happen in the postseason. On a positive note this will be an exciting game against two even teams.

#4 the HAW vs. #8 Yuengling Brewers
The Steelers put up a lot of points last week, but very few of them were attached to members of the HAW. It's hard to advance when your team scores only 33 points (their lowest total since facing the Brew Crew in rivalry week). Speaking of the Beermen, they almost completed an amazing comeback against the #1 seed but they came up three points short. Will Big Ben play this week? Can the Brewers beat the HAW twice in one season?

Good luck this week. The SuperBowl awaits!
