SuperBowl XXIV Champion!

FINALLY!! Congratulations to Coach Sinkerbeam on winning his first ever 3FL championship! It only took 24 years.

The Predacons outscored the league to win the second-highest scoring SuperBowl in history.

It was quite a record setting playoffs. Stay tuned later in the week for final stats and the 2024 wrap-up.

3FL Notes: S24: Week 17 (SuperBowl) Preview

The semis saw our fourth highest playoff weekly total but none of the individual games had much drama. Can we keep up the record setting pace during championship week?

This week there are eight game times outside of the Sunday afternoon spots, including two on Christmas Day. That means the NFL is active on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Make sure your team is ready!

It's SuperBowl week in the 3FL!

For 7th Place:
#3 Baltimorons vs. #4 Yuengling Brewers
Our third and fourth ranked teams somehow find themselves here, fighting to not finish last in the playoffs. Jalen Hurts' mid-game injury sunk the Brew Crew last week, but they're favored to win this one. These teams would have tied had they played each other in the consolation semifinals. Maybe that will happen here?

For 5th Place:
#1 Marauders vs. #7 Misfits, Inc.
Here's a thing about last week–FitzCorp scored more than 100 points but the Marauders did not. Nobody would have predicted that. I mean, 97 is close, and it was enough to put Coach Hoss here in a battle to win the consolation bracket. Can either of them break the century mark this time around? A TE who is not on IR would help.

For 3rd Place:
#6 Dumbbums vs. #8 Renegades
The Renegades could not continue the magic of the curse. After taking down the top seed in the quarterfinals, they scored their lowest total since week two in the semis and will now face the 'Bums for the bronze digital trophy. It's looking like a good matchup and the QBs could really run up the score. Let's just hope the injuries on both teams don't keep players off the field.

3FL SuperBowl XXIII
#2 Predacons vs. #5 the HAW
Here we go! The Preds are back in the big game for a record seventh time after scoring the third-highest weekly playoff total ever and putting up an average postseason margin of victory of 57+ points. But do they have anything left for the SuperBowl? Meanwhile the CAPS won their semifinal game by 37 points despite being an underdog by a TD (and getting -1 point from their FLEX position). It's going to be a great matchup lasting across the entire week with at least one player on every scheduled game day.

Back in week five the Predacons won the only head-to-head matchup between these two, so they'll have the tiebreaker if we need it. The Preds have never won a SB game. The HAW has never lost one. Does that change this year? Things may come down to a MNF showdown with one Lions player for each team trying to lead their squad to the championship.

Will SuperBowl scoring records be broken again? Can Coach HAW be the first to earn one for the thumb? Or will the Preds finally win a championship?? It all comes down to week 17!

3FL Notes: S24: Week 16 (Semifinals) Preview

Our second highest scoring playoff week ever saw two games come down to the very end of the Monday night games. And the 5th, 6th and 8th seeds advanced to the semifinals. Anything can happen in the 3FL playoffs!

All individual team pages (see links on the sidebar) and the 3FL Records have been updated and show statistics through the end of the 2024 regular season. This year's additions to the records page are in bold. Through 1,914 regular season games we have scored a combined 267,299 points.

Don't forget, the four teams still in the championship bracket will have only one player add available this week. There are seven scheduled game times to watch, including matchups on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Semifinal Games
(Winners play in 3FL SuperBowl XXIV, losers play for 3rd Place)

#2 Predacons vs. #6 Dumbbums
After a wild quarterfinal round the Preds are now the highest seed remaining and the only team in this round with more than seven regular season wins. They looked strong last week, but can they keep it up? The 'Bums used a MNF comeback to secure their spot in the semis and are projected to score a lot of points again. But their comeback attempt will have to happen on Sunday night this week, with two active players closing out this matchup.

#5 the HAW vs. #8 Renegades
The curse strikes again! The eighth seeded Renegades took down the highest scoring team in our history, using a trio on Monday night to erase a 23 point deficit. Meanwhile Jared Goff put his name in the record books for the CAPS last week with a tie for the fifth-most points ever scored in a playoff game. He might not get again 40, but the HAW will need their QB to step up to stop the Renegades from continuing their run. But would it really be an upset victory if the last seeded team is actually favored by a TD?

Consolation Games
(Winners play for 5th Place, losers play for 7th)

#1 Marauders vs. #4 Yuengling Brewers
Wow. The Marauders were really poised for a championship repeat after breaking records and entering the playoffs winning six games in a row. They even scored 100+ points again. But instead of defending the title they find themselves in the consolation bracket against the Brew Crew, who played against the top scoring team of week 15. This will be a good matchup between our last two SuperBowl winners with Coach Hoss having a slight edge (and a chance at a MNF comeback).

#3 Baltimorons vs. #7 Misfits, Inc.
There are a lot of red letters beside player names on these two teams. It's going to be interesting to see how the starting lineups get filled, but it's looking like it might be closer than it appears at this writing. And if FitzCorp does a few swaps from the bench they just might find themselves playing to win the consolation bracket next week.

3FL Notes: S24: Week 15 (Quarterfinals) Preview

What a finale!! We saw another tie (after some back-and-forth on Sunday night), the first win of the season for SpiVi, and plenty of names being added to the record books. The Marauders used a MNF comeback to jump into the #1 spot and surpass 1,500 points, by far the most ever scored in a season in our history!

Remember that ROSTERS WILL LOCK AT 1pm THIS SUNDAY, December 15th. Under our playoff rules you will be allowed to make 1 add/drop per week once the postseason starts, but only teams still in the winners bracket will be eligible to make a move (with waivers set in reverse order of seeding).

Three wins in a row wins it all!!

The Comm-nosticator is finished for the year, but game previews are not...

All four East Division teams qualified for the playoffs for the second year in a row. And, interestingly enough, all four of our quarterfinal matchups are divisional games (with three games being repeats of last week's matchups). So this will be the third time this year that each of these teams will play one another.

#1 Marauders vs. #8 Renegades
How about those Marauders? They begin their title defense after setting a new record in regular season scoring, winning their last six in a row and ending up as the top seed. Coach Hoss' team has been in triple digits in nine of the past ten weeks and is clearly the team to beat as they try for back-to-back championships. But don't look past the Renegades. Even though they've lost their last four games they made it close last week, and even beat the Marauders in their first matchup earlier this year.

#2 Predacons vs. #7 Misfits, Inc.

The Preds were our top team for six weeks in a row, but last week's disappointing loss saw them fall to the two seed. They still managed to score the 4th-highest season points total ever and qualify for the playoffs for a record 22nd time. So, not bad. They'll be up against the Corporation, who has had some ups and downs this year. Both season matchups went to the Preds, but this game might come down to which one of the Ravens has a better game on Sunday.

#3 Baltimorons vs. #6 Dumbbums
Just two weeks ago these teams had the same record but they've gone in opposite directions since then. And the 'Morons have won both head-to-head matchups this season. But the projections favor the underdog 'Bums. Can they turn the tables against their East Division foe? Both teams have a player active tonight and both have one going on Monday night, too, so we'll have to wait all week to find out which team will move on to the semis.

#4 Yuengling Brewers vs. #5 the HAW

After last week's tie we get to watch these two go at it again! It's looking like the best game of the week and nothing will be decided until their four combined MNF players finish up. It could honestly end up deadlocked for a second week in a row, and the tiebreaker goes to the CAPS (who are making their 15th consecutive playoff appearance) thanks to their week four win. Wouldn't that be something?

We should be in for another great finale as none of the teams still in contention play each other. It will likely come down to a half game in the standings! And six NFL teams are on a bye this week!!

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
Not much to see here. The 'Morons have officially clinched a playoff spot and the 'Bums have unofficially clinched one even with a loss here. It will be a good game with both QBs playing under the lights. But the only thing at stake is a little shifting in the standings.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
In another game with little possible impact, the Corporation faces off against PEP in one that's hard to call at this point. The questions are all around the coaching decisions. Will FitzCorp swap for injured/bye week players before tonight's game? And will the Phenoms hit the waiver wire for a K (or a WR if they don't have enough healthy ones on the roster)?

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Lightning
The North Division is already locked up by the Preds but a win here would keep them in the top spot in the league. Is that the best plan going into the postseason? The already eliminated Bolts will make this one close, especially since some core Predacons players are on a bye this week.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
Now this one is important. The winner here will be crowned champion of the West and the CAPS have the edge in the projections. They can get off to a good start tonight, but then all players will be done and the game decided just after dinner on Sunday. Is Mahomes going to sit on the bench again??

And the games of the week...

Marauders (-1) vs. Renegades
This season was quite a follow up to a SuperBowl victory for Coach Hoss. His Marauders not only lead the league in scoring, but they're actually third on the all-time season points list–with one more game still to play! They've hit the century mark in eight of their last nine games and are sitting at a W5. Another win here could see them end up as the #1 seed. That's all bad news for the Renegades who are currently clinging onto the last postseason spot thanks to their tie. A win would guarantee a game next week, but they can still advance with a Stompers loss.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
What a game this one is going to be! The Stompers need a victory to have a chance at the playoffs. Paired with a Renegades loss (against our highest scoring team), they would jump up into the 8th spot and into a quarterfinal matchup. And they're gifted a game against our last place team that hasn't seen a win in 15 straight games. But not so fast. It's looking like a streak breaker as the matchups favor SpiVi to end the season on a positive note and play spoiler against their West Division rivals. And a player in every NFL time slot will extend the drama all the way to Monday night.
