3FL Notes: S22: Week 17 (SuperBowl) Preview

There was not a whole lot of drama last week in the build up to the SuperBowl. The average margin of victory in our two championship bracket games was more than 40 points. But I have a feeling that won't be the case this week.

There is a Thursday game but not any of the usual Saturday matchups, so a majority of the NFL games are scheduled for the first day of 2023. Make sure your team is ready!

Week 16 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: the HAW - 110 points

Player MVPs:
Dak Prescott (QB/Dal/tH) - 26 points
CeeDee Lamb (WR/Dal/tH) - 24 points
George Kittle (TE/SF/D) - 24 points

Playoff Predictions Tally

Yahoo! Projections: 5/8 - 62.5%

Week 16 Information
Thursday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ Tennessee Titans
Sunday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens
Monday Night: Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals

It's SuperBowl week in the 3FL!

For 7th Place:
#2 Lightning vs. #8 Spiked Vipers
The Bolts had a great regular season but it seems like they were hit with injuries right at the wrong time. Lamar Jackson is ruled out for this game too, but so is Derrick Henry for SpiVi. Can Mac Jones keep our second place team from three playoff losses in a row? It's going to be close. The Vipers have one player scheduled after the 1pm games while the Lightning have seven. It's almost like a cricket match.

For 5th Place:
#4 Dumbbums vs. #6 the HAW
It was one week too late for the CAPS. They outscored everyone to put themselves in position to win the consolation bracket. Once again it all comes down to the Cowboys performance and since they're playing tonight we'll soon know how much of an early lead the 'Bums will need to overcome. And they'll both have to be rooting against the Steelers on Sunday night. Hmm.

For 3rd Place:
#3 Phys. Ed. Phenoms vs. #5 Stiletto Stompers
If things had gone a little differently in the semis, this could have been our SuperBowl matchup with a guarantee of a first time champion. But somehow PEP had a down game at the wrong time and the Stompers turned in the lowest score of the week (thanks to two zeros and two players with negative point totals). They'll both have to wait until next season for another title shot, but it's looking like the Phenoms might turn in the high total for this week to earn the digital bronze trophy.

3FL SuperBowl XXII
#1 Yuengling Brewers vs. #7 Predacons
Both of these teams cruised to victory in the semifinals and they are our top two scoring teams so far this playoff year. Can they keep it up? The Brew Crew is the only team this season to go over 1,300 points and they scored the fourth highest season total in 3FL history, so it's no surprise for them. The Preds scored less than 1,200 but they have turned things up in the postseason. They'll need to keep it going to have a chance here.

These two played each other back in Rivalry Week, where the Brewers won a low scoring game and therefore have the tiebreaker just in case we need it. They also faced off in SuperBowl XI (the infamous Tony Romo game) where the Predacons' QB was injured during the Cowboys' first drive. Hopefully both teams can stay healthy here.

Will SuperBowl records be broken again? Can the #1 seed win the championship three years in a row or will the Predacons finally have their name etched on the trophy? Maybe it will end up with a MNF Kicker comeback to win it all?? It all comes down to week 17!

Good luck this week!

Happy New Year and thanks to everyone for another great season!!

3FL Notes: S22: Week 16 (Semifinals) Preview

Our third-highest scoring playoff week of all time gave us some big totals and some prime time excitement. For the third year in a row all the odd numbered seeds advanced to the semifinals. And three out of our four remaining teams have never won the championship, so things could get really interesting in the next two weeks.

All individual team pages (see links on the sidebar) and the 3FL Records have been updated and show statistics through the end of the 2022 regular season. This year's additions to the records page are in bold. Through 1,746 regular season games we have scored a combined 238,888 points, and after week 15 we are only 81 points away from 275,000 total league points (regular season + playoffs).

Don't forget, the four teams still in the championship bracket will have only one player add available this week. Most of the NFL games are on Christmas Eve Saturday, with only three on Christmas Day and one on Monday Night.

Week 15 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Yuengling Brewers - 147 points (3rd all-time, playoffs)

Player MVPs:
Kirk Cousins (QB/Min/P) - 31 points
Patrick Mahomes (QB/KC/YB) - 29 points
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 28 points

Playoff Predictions Tally

Yahoo! Projections: 2/4 - 50%

Week 16 Information

Thursday Night: Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets
Saturday Night: Las Vegas Raiders @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday Night: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Arizona Cardinals
Monday Night: Los Angeles Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts

Semifinal Games
(Winners play in 3FL SuperBowl XXII, losers play for 3rd Place)

#1 Yuengling Brewers vs. #5 Stiletto Stompers
The Brew Crew led the way last week, scoring the third highest playoff team total in history and leaving no doubt about advancing as the top seed. Meanwhile the Stompers outlasted the 'Bums even though they DIDN'T START A QB. They'll probably want someone in that spot this week, as they are currently 25+ point underdogs. We all know that anything can happen, plus there is the curse, but it's not going to be easy.

#3 Phys. Ed. Phenoms vs. #7 Predacons
This is going to be a good one. Neither team has their name on the trophy yet, so one of them will get a title shot next week. But which one? PEP has won both West Division head-to-head matchups this year but the Preds scored more than 120 points last week (thanks to the largest comeback in NFL history). That probably won't happen two weeks in a row. Right?

Consolation Games
(Winners play for 5th Place, losers play for 7th)

#2 Lightning vs. #6 the HAW
The Bolts ended the year in second place but then saw their star QB unavailable for the quarterfinals. Things went south from there, and they ended up scoring their lowest total in more than a year. The CAPS and the Cowboys put up a respectable week but fell just short. Dallas has a tougher matchup this week but Coach HAW has the projections on his side. Scheduled games are all over the place so we'll have to wait until MNF for the final result.

#4 Dumbbums vs. #8 Spiked Vipers
It just wasn't meant to be. Even if the 'Bums were able to switch to their optimal lineup they still would have lost their game. And SpiVi simply ran into the buzzsaw that is the Brewers. They would have beaten three other teams last week (including the Dumbbums). This matchup should be close and it will depend on which QBs get the start.

Merry Christmas and good luck this week! The SuperBowl awaits!!

3FL Notes: S22: Week 15 (Quarterfinals) Preview

Our regular season finale saw a lot of drama just to keep the same teams in the same three open playoff spots. The Renegades gave it their best shot (and earned the biggest blowout of the week for the fifth time this season) but they came up just short of the postseason. Now it's time to start the journey to the SuperBowl!

There are six games outside the Sunday afternoon time slots this week, including three on Saturday. Make sure to have your players in position before their games start!

Remember that ROSTERS WILL LOCK AT 1pm THIS SUNDAY, December 18th. Under our playoff rules you will be allowed to make 1 add/drop per week once the postseason starts, but only teams still in the winners bracket will be eligible to make a move (with waivers set in reverse order of seeding).

Three wins in a row wins it all!!

Week 14 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Renegades - 134 points

Player MVPs:
Jalen Hurts (QB/Phi/MI) - 29 points
Evan Engram (TE/Jax/R) - 28 points
Miles Sanders (RB/Phi/M) - 27 points

Regular Season Final Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 54/84 - 64.29%
Yahoo! Projections: 52/84 - 61.90%

Week 15 Information

Thursday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks
Saturday Early: Indianapolis Colts @ Minnesota Vikings
Saturday Late: Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns
Saturday Night: Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
Sunday Night: New York Giants @ Washington Commanders
Monday Night: Los Angeles Rams @ Green Bay Packers

The Comm-nosticator is finished for the year, but game previews are not...

#1 Yuengling Brewers vs. #8 Spiked Vipers
The Brew Crew finished the regular season as the top seed and highest scoring team, and they ended up with the fourth highest season team points total of all time. Not only that, but they have Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey and Tyreek Hill. SpiVi qualified for the playoffs with a clutch win last week but this game will be more difficult. But we all know you can never rule out the curse.

#2 Lightning vs. #7 Predacons
Don't look for a QB to lead the way in this one. Lamar Jackson brought the Bolts to the postseason but he's already been ruled out for Week 15. It's looking like Russell Wilson against Kirk Cousins for a shot at the semifinals. Yikes. The Preds haven't scored more than 89 points since the last time these teams met (in week 9) and it might take at least that many to sneak past the North Division winners.

#3 Phys. Ed. Phenoms vs. #6 the HAW
It seems a little unlucky that PEP has to face off against the HAW after winning the West and claiming the third seed. The CAPS may have finished the regular season at .500 but they're second in scoring and have won five of their last six games. The projections are close and it's looking like it will be our best game of the week. And it come down to Joe Burrow's arm and the overall performance of the Cowboys.

#4 Dumbbums vs. #5 Stiletto Stompers
The 4v5 game should be the most even of all the first round matchups but unfortunately that's not the case this time around. BOTH of the Stompers QBs are on IR (along with a TE for good measure). This one is going to be good for the night owls, with at least one player going tonight, Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night. Grab some snacks.

Good luck in the playoffs! The trophy awaits!!

Thursday, December 08, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 14 Preview

It's the last week of our regular season and we still have six teams battling for the remaining three playoff spots. And with six NFL teams on a bye it will be that much more exciting.

It should be a great finale!

Week 13 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: the HAW - 110 points

Player MVPs:
Jalen Hurts (QB/Phi/MI) - 32 points
Davante Adams (WR/LV/M) - 29 points
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 27 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 49/78- 62.82%
Yahoo! Projections: 47/78 - 60.26%

Week 14 Information

Thursday Night: Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Rams
Sunday Night: Miami Dolphins @ Los Angeles Chargers
Monday Night: New England Patriots @ Arizona Cardinals
Bye Week: Bears, Colts, Commanders, Falcons, Packers, Saints

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 14:

the HAW (-1) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The CAPS outscored everyone last week and they have the highest projected total for this week too. They're still technically fighting for a playoff spot, but unless there is a perfect storm and a 100+ point deficit they'll cruise to Coach HAW's 13th straight postseason appearance.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
It's going to take a big week and some help, but FitzCorp still has a chance to play next week despite being in 11th place. They'll just need to outperform all those single digit projections (and start a full lineup). Meanwhile the Bolts seem to have succeeded in avoiding the curse and now just have to hope their QB1 will be healthy sooner rather than later.

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Marauders
The only team not still in the running for a playoff spot is our current champion. But Coach Hoss is riding a three game winning streak and could keep the Renegades out of the postseason by handing them a loss here. It's going to be close and Coach Val needs not only a win but some help from around the league.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The 'Bums are sitting pretty in at #4 and are tied with the second best record in the league. They're only playing for seeding at this point, while the Preds could really use a win to make sure they keep a top 8 spot. They'll be headed in the right direction if they can just avoid having two players injured mid-game again this week.

And the games of the week...

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
How about those Phenoms? They've taken over first place and are a game up on their closest competition. But do they really want to deal with the curse? SpiVi is in with a win here, but if they lose there are three other teams that can jump up in to the final playoff spot. It's all going to come down to multiple players in prime time.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
Things start tonight with two from each team playing in the prime video game. Can one of them jump out to a big lead? The QBs are a great matchup and everything else is looking pretty close. Keep your eye on injuries (a constant storyline for the 'Morons this year) but also keep in mind that Coach Drew needs a win to have any chance at the postseason.

Good luck this week!

Thursday, December 01, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 13 Preview

Our first playoff spots have finally been claimed, but there are still six up for grabs. How many more teams can qualify this week?

Things are still very much in flux with only two weeks to go in the regular season.

Week 12 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Phys. Ed. Phenoms - 115 points

Player MVPs:
Josh Jacobs (RB/LV/L) - 41 points
Jalen Hurts (QB/Phi/MI) - 30 points
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/B) - 28 points
Justin Herbert (QB/LAC/SV) - 28 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 45/72 - 62.50%
Yahoo! Projections: 43/72 - 59.72%

Week 13 Information

Thursday Night: Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots
Sunday Night: Indianapolis Colts @ Dallas Cowboys
Monday Night: New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bye Week: Cardinals, Panthers

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 13:

the HAW (-1) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Despite being third in season scoring, the CAPS are clinging to the last playoff spot at the moment. They can use some lopsided projections this week to sure up that spot and pretty much knock FitzCorp out of the running. This game features a combined seven players in the prime time matchups.

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
Since their record-tying losing streak ended the Marauders have won two straight, and it looks like they'll stretch it to three here as they face off against the 'Morons and their walking wounded. Things are slightly better for them this week, though. They only have four Qs and two on the IR.

Lightning (-1) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Bolts are back in first place after hanging out at number two for the past month. They've punched their ticket to the postseason already and it's looking like they'll be a heavy favorite against the Stompers. Coach Bev is only a game back but the matchups are pointing toward the Lightning, starting with the potential for a big start tonight.

Yuengling Brewers (-1) vs. Renegades
The math could still work out for Coach Val but it's not going to be an easy equation. The Brew Crew has fallen out of the top spot but they have a chance to secure the division and clinch a playoff spot with a victory here. And does anyone want to play Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Christian McCaffrey no matter what seed they end up earning?

And the games of the week...

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
Coach Coaldog saw his winning steak stopped at W-6 last week and his 'Bums will face another tough test here. SpiVi can jump ahead of them in the standings with a win in this even matchup that is scheduled to end around dinner time on Sunday. QB choices will loom large.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Predacons
As one of two teams to secure a playoff spot, PEP is in good shape as they enter the final two weeks of the regular season. The same can't be said of the Preds. They are hanging on in the middle of the standings right now but their final games are against the two top teams in our best division. This one will be close and there are players in every time slot.

Good luck this week!

Thursday, November 24, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 12 Preview

The Marauders finally stopped their losing streak and things are even tighter across the league. Four teams are now 7-4 at the top of the standings and there are still zero claimed postseason spots with only three weeks to go.

All teams have now played each other one time and we're back to divisional battles to wrap up the regular season and figure out our playoff seedings. It should be a fun week full of drama and turkey!

Week 11 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: the HAW - 112 points

Player MVPs:
Tony Pollard (RB/Dal/tH) - 30 points
Travis Kelce (TE/KC/L) - 29 points
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 27 points

Predictions Tally

Yahoo! Projections: 39/66 - 59.09%

Week 12 Information

Thanksgiving Early: Buffalo Bills @ Detroit Lions
Thanksgiving Late: New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys
Thanksgiving Night: New England Patriots @ Minnesota Vikings
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles
Monday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts
Bye Week: None

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 12:

the HAW (-1) vs. Lightning
I told you to watch out for the HAW. After a rough start to the season they just won their third straight (and fourth out of their last five) and outscored everyone else last week. They jumped from 10th place to 7th in the standings and are currently second in scoring. The Bolts may be third in total points but I'm not sure they have enough firepower to keep up against the only team projected to score in triple digits.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
This is looking like it will be a good one. They combine to start the week with 4 players on Thanksgiving, and then the Preds will have to wait until Sunday night to see if they can mount a comeback. It will come down to which team starts the right QB. The Preds were back to getting a goose egg out of that spot last week, but they'll need a lot more against SpiVi.

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
Coach Drew is hanging on to the last playoff spot by a mere seven points but it's going to be an uphill battle against the Coach Val this week. The Renegades may be in 11th place but they're only one game back of a postseason spot. Add in some low projections for the 'Morons and now four (4!) players on their IR and it could be an upset special.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
The Marauders doubled their win total and stopped their losing streak last week. As a reward they get to face the top team in the league. It's going to be closer than you think for a matchup of first vs. last, and it's going to be an exciting comeback run too. A full two-thirds of Coach Hoss' players are in the prime time games after the Brew Crew is wrapped up for the week.

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Being up by 31 points going into MNF was not enough last week for FitzCorp, and that loss knocked them out of playoff position. If they can rebound against the Stompers they'll leapfrog them in the standings. But that won't be easy to do unless they have two healthy RBs and a reassessment of their starting lineup.

And the game of the week...

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
It's our #3 against #4 in a matchup for the West Division lead. The 'Bums have quietly won their last six in a row but it will be tough to extend that streak. It's going to be a great game, but I just can't see all of Coach Coaldog's important Qs being healthy in time for their Sunday games. If the turkey day trio for PEP can get them off to a decent start they might never give up the lead.

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck this week!

Thursday, November 17, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 11 Preview

A low scoring Rivalry Week muddled the standings even more and now no teams are on pace for a top-five season scoring total.

With only four games left in the regular season there are still no playoff spots clinched and no team is mathematically eliminated either. It should be a fun sprint to the postseason!

Week 10 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Renegades - 109 points

Player MVPs:
Justin Fields (QB/Chi/SV) - 39 points
Patrick Mahomes (QB/KC/YB) - 31 points
CeeDee Lamb (WR/Dal/tH) - 27 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 38/60 - 63.33%
Yahoo! Projections: 35/60 - 58.33%

Week 11 Information

Thursday Night: Tennessee Titans @ Green Bay Packers
Sunday Night: Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers
Monday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals
Bye Week: Buccaneers, Dolphins, Jaguars, Seahawks

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 11:

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Predacons
Coach Hoss lost again last week and is now tied for the longest losing streak in league history. One more here and he'll stand alone at L-10 (after winning the SuperBowl just last season). But the Marauders are actually favored to beat the Preds thanks to the Seahawks bye week, a few favorable matchups and an injured WR. They have to win out for a shot at the last postseason spot, but...you're saying there's a chance?

Dumbbums (-1) vs. Misfits, Inc.
The 'Bums are on a five game winning streak and it's looking likely they'll push that to a half dozen this week. It is just a question of if there will be enough healthy WRs to line up against FitzCorp. The Corporation currently has two TEs starting for their team. Last resort or brilliant strategy?

Phys Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
This is shaping up to be a great matchup, but the result will be based on player health and if Josh Allen is trying to throw the ball in 3 to 6 feet of snow and 30 mph winds (as is the forecast for the weekend). It's also not helping that the 'Morons currently have three players on IR. It will be close but PEP will most likely use a MNF comeback to seal the game.

Lightning (-1) vs. Renegades
I'm not sure what's happening with the Bolts, but they've now lost their last four after starting the season 6-0. This week looks to be perfect game to get back on track though, as the Renegades have six (6!) players on a bye plus 2 Qs and one IR. That seems like a lot to overcome.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Brew Crew remains in first place and now they're also a game up on their closest competitors. The Stompers, meanwhile, limp into this one after scoring their lowest game total since rivalry week of 2015. Ouch. They'll need all they can get against Patrick Mahomes this week, and all those Qs aren't helping.

And the game of the week...

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. the HAW
These two have combined to make 40 transactions already this year. Will they make any more before this important matchup begins? Both teams are looking solid and the projections are even, but don't sleep on the CAPS. They're second in the league in scoring but 10th in the standings. That has to work itself out over a 14 week season, right? It will all come down to Sunday night.

Good luck this week.

Thursday, November 10, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 10 Preview

The West won all their games again, putting their combined streak total at W-14. Can they keep it up?

Rivalry Week will have some great matchups but won't allow anyone to lock in a playoff spot yet. And don't forget about the first ever NFL game in Germany that will take place on Sunday morning. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihr Team bereit ist!

Week 9 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Dumbbums - 124 points

Player MVPs:
Joe Mixon (RB/Cin/D) - 50 points (2nd all-time)
Davante Adams (WR/LV/M) - 26 points
Patrick Mahomes (QB/KC/YB) - 26 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 34/54 - 62.96%
Yahoo! Projections: 30/54 - 55.56%

Week 10 Information

Thursday Night: Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers
Sunday Morning: Seattle Seahawks @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday Night: Los Angeles Chargers @ San Francisco 49ers
Monday Night: Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles
Bye Week: Bengals, Jets, Patriots, Ravens

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for Rivalry Week:

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Brew Crew held on to the top spot despite a loss last week, but they'll be favored in this one. The QB spot will make all the difference as these two watch players in every time slot. Unfortunately this game will probably be out of hand before the Preds' Eagles take the field on MNF.

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
This one is shaping up to be a good matchup. But is Josh Allen healthy? And what about the 'Bums' Qs? It's just a shame that Joe Mixon is on a bye the week after putting up the 2nd most individual points in league history. He would tip the scales in the other direction.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Lightning
What's up with the Bolts? After going undefeated for the first six weeks of the season they are now riding a three game losing streak. They have an uphill battle this week with Lamar Jackson on a bye. But will SpiVi have a QB switch of their own after watching their backup score 45 points on the bench last week?

the HAW (-1) vs. Marauders
The first to worst season continues for Coach Hoss. His team has now lost eight straight and they're projected to up that total and tie the longest losing streak in league history after this matchup. Not only are they last in scoring but their points against total is 100+ more than any other team. Ouch.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
PEP won again last week and have kept a hold on the West Division lead and third place in the standings. They have a tough matchup against the Corporation in this one, especially with their starting QB on a bye. Can Kenny Pickett lead a team to a victory? The more important question is whether Coach Tim-A will make their second transaction of the season and put a starter in the K spot.

And the Rivalry Week game of the week...

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
This is always a great matchup regardless of the standings and this year will be no different. Their projections are even across the board and with a player during every game time this week we won't get a final result until MNF. Tonight is a chance for the Stompers to ride out in front, but the game in Germany might give Coach Val the early Sunday advantage.

Good luck this week.

Thursday, November 03, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 9 Preview

Our third highest scoring week of of all time saw four teams top 120 points. The West won all their games while the North lost all theirs, the opposite of what happened back in week five.

Now the difference between the first seed and missing the playoffs is only two games with six to go.

There are six NFL teams on a bye this week. It should be interesting!

Week 8 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Baltimorons/Predacons - 127 points

Player MVPs:
A.J. Brown (WR/Phi/P) - 33 points
Derrick Henry (RB/Ten/SV) - 33 points
Alvin Kamara (RB/NO/M) - 33 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 30/48 - 62.5%
Yahoo! Projections: 27/48 - 56.25%

Week 9 Information

Thursday Night: Philadelphia Eagles @ Houston Texans
Sunday Night: Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs
Monday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ New Orleans Saints
Bye Week: 49ers, Broncos, Browns, Cowboys, Giants, Steelers

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 9:

Renegades (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
There are a lot of low numbers in the projections here. Two thirds of their players are predicted to score in the single digits. Hopefully Hurts (tonight) and Goff can raise those numbers up, but a lot of it is going to depend on injuries and lineup checking.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Bolts lost again last week and have dropped out of the top spot in the league. They'll have a chance to get back on a winning streak against the Preds and their Eagles, though. It's just going to take until Monday night to do it.

Baltimorons (-1) vs. Spiked Vipers
Please do not look at the benches of these two. Between injury designations and bye weeks they are not pretty. The 'Morons have still managed to put together a decent starting lineup, but SpiVi is going to have some trouble with matchups.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
PEP is on a roll. They've won their last three in a row and are in third place in the standings and in scoring. It looks like they'll extend that streak to four without much effort this week. At the time of this writing–thanks to byes and injuries–the Stompers don't even have an active player in the RB1 or Defense spot.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
Wow, the CAPS sure have a lot of Cowboys on their roster. That fact becomes more obvious when all four of them are on a bye. Still, they'll put up a fight against the team that just took over the top spot in the league. It just depends on if all their Qs end up playing this week.

And the game of the week...

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Our best matchup this weeks comes from the bottom third of the standings. This one is really too close to call and it runs through every NFL time slot. The 'Bums have the slightest of advantages, but it's possible that the Marauders could be just about eliminated from the playoffs unless they can pull out a victory.

Good luck this week.

Thursday, October 27, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 8 Preview

We're now halfway through our regular season and the Lightning finally picked up their first loss. And all four members of the East Division lost their W7 matchups.

There is another early Sunday game across the pond but thankfully only two NFL teams are on a bye this week.

Week 7 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Dumbbums - 120 points

Player MVPs:
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 35 points
Josh Jacobs (RB/LV/L) - 33 points
Kenneth Walker III (RB/Sea/P) - 28 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 26/42 - 61.90%
Yahoo! Projections: 24/42 - 57.14%

Week 8 Information

Thursday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday Morning: Denver Broncos @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ Buffalo Bills
Monday Night: Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Bye Week: Chargers, Chiefs

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 8:

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
These two have even records and an even matchup. The 'Morons get a few much needed stars back from their bye week, but FitzCorp has the RBs to earn a win (provided they are all healthy). It could honestly be the season's first tie.

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Stompers hold the longest current winning streak at four games. But it's looking like injuries to a few key players will tip the scale to the 'Bums (who would be pushed to W-3). Not bad after they were in last place just two weeks ago. It's going to come right down to the wire on MNF.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1) vs. Renegades
It's always a fun game when these two meet for house bragging rights. It's just a shame that it's not looking like it will be much fun for Coach Val this year. The Renegades need a big Thursday night to have a chance, but even then it seems like PEP will still have the advantage.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. the HAW
Hmm. These two underperforming teams battle in what should be a great game this week. They have the two highest scoring projections and it will be helpful for one of them to pick up another win. The CAPS start things off tonight, but it all comes down to a player from each team going on Sunday Night to wrap things up.

Marauders (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
The Marauders unfortunate season continues. They've now lost six in a row and have the lowest scoring total in the league. Pair that with the highest points against and it's no wonder they remain in last place. A turnaround could start this week against SpiVi, though, with the matchups and bye weeks favoring Coach Hoss's team. But are they really starting the Steelers D against the undefeated Eagles?

And the game of the week...

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
It's our mid-season SuperBowl! #1 vs. #2 (in the standings and in scoring) face off in another even matchup this week. It really could go either way and it will most likely depend on what happens with those Qs by gametime. And if Stefon Diggs can complete the comeback for the Bolts on SNF to retain the top spot.

Happy Halloween and good luck this week!

3FL Notes: S22: Week 7 Preview

The lowest scoring week of the year (by 1 point) gave us some excitement and a little shuffling of the standings. Only one team was over the century mark and we're still waiting for an addition to the records page in 2022. Will that come this week?

Week 6 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Phys. Ed. Phenoms - 101 points

Player MVPs:
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 32 points
Ja'Marr Chase (WR/Cin/SS) - 25 points
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/B) - 25 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 22/36 - 61.11%
Yahoo! Projections: 20/36 - 55.56%

Week 7 Information

Thursday Night: New Orleans Saints @ Arizona Cardinals
Sunday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Miami Dolphins
Monday Night: Chicago Bears @ New England Patriots
Bye Week: Bills, Eagles, Rams, Vikings

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 7:

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Things are not going well for our defending champion. The Marauders have fallen into last place and have lost their last five in a row. That's more Ls (plus ties) than they had all of last season. Coach Hoss has a chance to turn things around this week, but only if FitzCorp doesn't replace their by week players before game day.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
It will be fun to watch these four great RBs go at each other. Tonight is important for the Stompers but SpiVi will finish things up on MNF. This is also a good spot for a public service announcement/reminder that players with an IR designation can be placed in an IR roster spot. Both of these teams have an injured reserve player taking up a place on the bench.

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Renegades
These two teams have identical records and an even matchup this week. And neither has a player with a prime time game on the schedule. The slight edge goes to the Preds, but if D'Andre Swift isn't healthy this might end up as a tie.

the HAW (-2) vs. Baltimorons
The 'Morons are currently in 3rd place and the CAPS sit in 11th. So why the lopsided prediction? Because most of Coach Drew's top players are on a bye this week. Will he add/drop to up those single digit projections? Or just ride it out to retain his core? Either way it will likely end up doubling Coach HAW's win total.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
News Alert: the Bolts finally made a player transaction. And they'll have to make another one if they want to start a K this week. The 'Bums have an amazing set of RBs and this could be the upset of the week. But who would bet against the undefeated Lightning?

And the game of the week...

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
This one is looking like it could be a barnburner. Both teams are ranked the top five in both the standings and in scoring. Things start big tonight and there is at least one player in each time slot this week. And with five players in prime time (including a head-to-head MNF RB clash) it will take until the bitter end to decide the winner.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S22: Week 6 Preview

The HAW picked up their first win by outscoring the entire league and the Lightning continued their undefeated start to the season. Week 5 also saw the North Division teams all come out victorious while the West Division teams all lost.

Don't forget the byes start this week. Make sure your team is ready.

Week 5 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: the HAW - 130 points

Player MVPs:
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/B) - 34 points
Austin Ekeler (RB/LAC/tH) - 31 points
Patrick Mahomes (QB/KC/YB) - 31 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 18/30 - 60%
Yahoo! Projections: 15/30 - 50%

Week 6 Information

Thurdsay Night: Washington Commanders @ Chicago Bears
Sunday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles
Monday Night: Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers
Bye Week: Lions, Raiders, Texans, Titans

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 6:

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Renegades
This one is even across the board and it's going to come down to the bye week fill-ins (and the paying attention to to possible late injury updates). Coach Coaldog has a decision to make after falling to the bottom of the standings. Will the new Seattle QB replace the old Seattle QB in his lineup?

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Marauders
The Bolts are riding high with an undefeated record, the top spot in the league and the most points scored this season. But did you also know that as of this writing they haven't made a player transaction yet? It must be nice. Coach Hoss needs a win here or it's going to be a long road back to the playoffs for a title defense.

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds are starting their fifth different QB in the last five weeks and have scored 9 total points at that position all season. Jalen Hurts had more than that in the first half of his last game. This one should actually be close thanks to the RB differential, but the Eagles on SNF will decide the victor.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1) vs. the HAW
Speaking of the playoffs, the CAPS have made the postseason for the last 12 straight years. Last week's point explosion earned them their first win in convincing fashion, but they'll need to maintain that momentum to continue the playoff streak. Prime time games hold the key here.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
A QB duel highlights another close one this week. Justin Herbert just might give SpiVi a MNF comeback but it's really a shame how the bye weeks are working against Coach Nick. With a full complement of players this probably would have been the GotW.

And the game of the week...

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Our marquee matchup features two teams in the top four of the league and even projections across the starting positions. It really could go either way. A slight edge goes to the 'Morons because of the Stompers' injury situation (and lack of help on the bench in the case one of those Qs ends up inactive).

Good luck this week.

Thursday, October 06, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 5 Preview

Only the Lightning remain undefeated and we saw two MNF comebacks in a high scoring week four. We're now back to playing across the divisions until the end of the season.

Don't forget about another 9:30am game on Sunday from Old England!

Week 4 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Renegades - 118 points

Player MVPs:
Jared Goff (QB/Det/R) - 33 points
T.J. Hockenson (TE/Det/P) - 31 points
Josh Jacobs (RB/LV/L) - 29 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 14/24 - 58.33%
Yahoo! Projections: 11/24 - 45.83%

Week 5 Information

Thursday Night: Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos
Sunday Morning: New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers
Sunday Night: Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
Monday Night: Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs
Bye Week: None until next week

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 5:

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Our defending champs have had a rough go this year after winning in week one. They're sitting at 1-3 and have the most points scored against them in the league. The Stompers are looking to add to that total and put the Marauders on the wrong end of the Biggest Blowout for a 4th(!) straight week.

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds finally picked up a win last week thanks to their TE. They need to fix the QB situation, as 9 total points in 4 weeks is not good from that roster spot. Meanwhile the 'Morons have Josh Allen and Cooper Kupp. Those two might win this matchup by themselves.

Yuengling Brewers (-1) vs. Dumbbums
The Brew Crew picked up their first loss last week, but they're still second in the standings and second in scoring. And now they play the 'Bums, who have fallen to second-to-last in the standings and absolute last in scoring. It's not going to be pretty.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
How about those Bolts? They're our lone undefeated team and are averaging more than 100 points per game. And they have the highest projected total for this week, too. It will probably be a bit much to handle for PEP, especially with that roster full of red Qs (and other letters).

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
SpiVi is atop the West and have won their last three in a row. And things are looking good for them to extend that streak with the matchups working in their favor. Number one overall pick Jonathan Taylor has been ruled out for tonight's game and five players with a Questionable designation combine to make this an uphill battle for the Corporation.

And the game of the week...

Renegades (-1/2) vs. the HAW
The CAPS are still looking for their first victory and this one is going to be close. Coach Val's team has either been the top scorer or lowest scorer in each week so far. Which one will happen this week? The projections are just about even and it's going to come down to the FLEX player coaching decisions. And we'll all have to watch the prime time games to see if his two final players of the week can mount a comeback for Coach HAW's first W.

Good luck this week.

Thursday, September 29, 2022

3FL Notes: S22: Week 4 Preview

Our undefeated and winless teams both stayed that way in a low scoring week. What's next as we finish up the last round of our first set of divisional matchups?

Don't forget about the Sunday morning game at 9:30am EDT.

Week 3 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Lightning/Phys. Ed. Phenoms - 98 points

Player MVPs:
Lamar Jackson (QB/Bal/L) - 42 points
Jalen Hurts (QB/Phi/MI) - 26 points
Joe Burrow (QB/Cin/PEP) - 23 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 13/18 - 72.22%
Yahoo! Projections: 10/18 - 55.56%

Week 4 Information
Thursday Night: Miami Dolphins @ Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday Morning: Minnesota Vikings @ New Orleans Saints
Sunday Night: Kansas City Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Monday Night: Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco 49ers
Bye Week: None until week 6

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 4:

It's an interesting schedule this week. In half of our games the winner will end up first in the division. In the other half the loser will end up last in in the division.

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Preds have not looked good this season. They have yet to win a game and will likely end up 0-4 after facing the 'Bums this week. It started with the QB play and injury, but having both your starting RBs go down mid-game does not help either.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Speaking of not good, the CAPS are in last place in the league as we head into week four. They left the third highest scorer on the bench last week and ended up with a one point loss. This week they'll have to choose between WRs with a Q beside them and then wait for Coach Bev's Defense on MNF.

Marauders (-1) vs. Renegades
The Renegades are also headed in the wrong direction. After leading the league in scoring in week one, they put up the fewest points in both week two and three. Can they get back on the winning side after a switch at QB? Or will the Marauders recover from the wrong end of the biggest blowout and double their W total?

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
This one is going to be really close. The teams are evenly matched in the game and in the standings. But something has to give. PEP will look to get things started tonight, but both teams will have to stay up for MNF for the top spot in the West to be decided.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
There's another great matchup here as the league leading Bolts look to go up by two games in the North division. Interestingly enough these are the only teams in the 3FL that have zero transactions through three weeks. The win here will be earned by the play of two of the best QBs in the league and whichever team gets the most out of their Sunday night duo.

And the game of the week...

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
The battle for East will feature a player in every time slot this week. This game has everything, including Mahomes vs. Allen and a defense playing in old England. But the real question is if the Brew Crew can overcome all of those RBs with a questionable tag.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S22: Week 3 Preview

All streaks from last season have been broken and a full two-thirds of the league is currently at .500 after our first two games. More divisional battles are on the schedule for week three!

Week 2 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Yuengling Brewers - 130 points

Player MVPs:
Lamar Jackson (QB/Bal/L) - 41 points
Stefon Diggs (WR/Buf/L) - 32 points
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/B) - 31 points
Tyreek Hill (WR/Mia/YB) - 31 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 8/12 - 66.67%
Yahoo! Projections: 7/12 - 58.33%

Week 3 Information

Thursday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns
Sunday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ Denver Broncos
Monday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
Bye Week: None until week 6

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 3:

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Predacons were the last team to pick a QB in the draft (again), and now he's out for the season. It's going to be difficult to make up for that gap in the lineup. We'll know how bad it can get after tonight's game (that features all of PEP's RBs).

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Coach Hoss lost for the first time in his last 8 games and the Marauders are in for another test this week. They'll need a good start tonight but Josh Allen and Cooper Kupp might be enough for the 'Morons to steal a win. Upset special of the week.

Spiked Vipers (-1) vs. Dumbbums
The matchups favor the Vipers and there's a chance that they start with a lead tonight and never relinquish it. But there are a bunch of combined players on SNF and things will be decided as soon as that game finishes up.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Things are not great for the CAPS. They're in last place and are looking up at the 1st, 3rd and 4th place 3FL teams in their own division. They have a chance to turn it around with a new starting QB against FitzCorp. But they'll have to hope for the Qs to heal in their favor and for their RB2 to outperform expectations.

Yuengling Brewers (-1) vs. Renegades
What happened? The Renegades went from the top scoring team with the biggest blowout in week one to the lowest scoring team in week two. And things will not be easy against Patrick Mahomes and the Brew Crew. Maybe they'd be content with splitting the difference in this game?

And the game of the week...

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
With a W in week three the Bolts will match their win total for the entire 2021 season and keep their top spot in the league. That's not a given though, as the Stompers have four players in the primetime games to mount a comeback. It's going to be a close one!

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S22: Week 2 Preview

From primetime comebacks to injuries to an NFL tie, our 22nd season started off with a little bit of everything.

The first set of intradivisional games starts this week and there are also two Monday night games. Make sure your team is ready!

Week 1 Recap

Top Scoring 3FL Team: Renegades - 107 points

Player MVPs:
Patrick Mahomes (QB/KC/YB) - 37 points
Josh Allen (QB/Buf/B) - 30 points
Justin Jefferson (WR/Min/R) - 30 points

Predictions Tally

The Comm-nosticator: 3/6 - 50%
Yahoo! Projections: 2/6 - 33.33%

Week 2 Information

Thursday Night: LA Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs
Sunday Night: Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers
Monday Evening: Tennessee Titans @ Buffalo Bills
Monday Night: Minnesota Vikings @ Philadelphia Eagles
Bye Week: None until week 6

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 2:

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Coach Val outscored the league (for the first time since the 2019 season) and posted the biggest blowout in our first week of action. But it will be harder to repeat those things with a 0 next to the starting kicker who is injured for tonight's game.

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
This one is a total coin flip. It really could go either way, with even matchups across the board. If Najee is fully healthy then PEP has the slimmest of advantages. If not can I change my pick?

Lightning (-1) vs. the HAW
The CAPS did not have a good first week. They scored only 50 points (their lowest total in almost 6 years!) and are sitting in 12th place at the moment. Things aren't looking too much better this week, and the Bolts are poised to take advantage.

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Our defending champion hasn't lost in 7 straight games (there is a tie in the mix late last season though). They won't have it easy this week against Patrick Mahomes and the Beermen though. And there are a lot of Qs in their lineup.

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
I told you not to sleep on the Stompers. The're only one point off the league lead and have the highest projected point total this week. FitzCorp will have to hope to score big during both MNF games.

And the game of the week...

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
It's unfamiliar territory, but after this week one of these teams will have started the season 0-2 and be at the bottom of the West division. And it will probably be the one with the issues at QB. Either way it looks like it will be an entertaining ride, with a player active in every one of the NFL time slots.

Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S22: Week 1 Preview

Can the Marauders defend the title? Or will we (finally) have another new name on the trophy? And what records will be broken this year?? The 22nd 3FL season will have these answers.

It all starts tonight. Get your team ready to go!

Week 1 Information

Thursday Night: Buffalo Bills @ LA Rams
Sunday Night: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas Cowboys
Monday Night: Denver Broncos @ Seattle Seahawks
Bye Week: None until week 6

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 1:
The first week is always the toughest to predict, but here goes...

Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
It looks like all of the games in our first week are projected to be really close. But this one is dead even. There are players to watch in every time slot and things won't be decided until Monday night.

Lightning (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
These teams have a combined 6 (or more) players in tonight's season kickoff matchup. That will get things off to a quick start, but the game will be over before dinner time on Sunday. It really could end up either way.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
It's another tight one here as SpiVi tries to get back to the SuperBowl for the third consecutive year. This game features a QB vs. Defense head-to-head battle on Sunday night that just might decide the outcome.

Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
Is it finally time for one of these teams to have their name engraved on the trophy? This game is the first step. The Stompers have the clear advantage according to the projections even though a full third of the Preds are planning a MNF comeback.

the HAW (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The CAPS get to watch their plethora of Cowboys on SNF this week. They have to hope that trio will put things out of hand before the Bums' QB gets a chance to jump ahead on Monday night.

And the game of the week...

Phys. Ed. Phenoms (-1/2) vs. Marauders
A championship repeat is never easy and Coach Hoss starts out with the lowest projected team score in the league for week one. These two are evenly matched but the RB advantage for PEP might be just enough for a win.

Good luck in Week 1 and for the rest of Season 22!

3FL Notes: 2022 Draft Analysis

Eleven of our twelve teams were represented during the online draft on Thursday night. Here is an analysis of the results (in draft order):

1. Misfits, Inc.: The autodraft bot rewarded itself with the Best Draft designation and this team turned out pretty strong. But would an online Coach Tim-A have picked Jalen Hurts as the starting QB? Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: B)

2. Yuengling Brewers: Opposite of the first pick, our second pick received the (automated) worst draft score in the league. But how can a team with Christian McCaffrey and Patrick Mahomes be at the bottom? Grade: B+ (Yahoo! Grade: C)

3. Spiked Vipers: Straying from his recent draft strategies, Coach Nick stayed away from splash picks and didn't choose a DEF or K until the ninth round. The result is a well rounded team. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: C)

4. the HAW: Yahoo! doesn't love the CAPS 2022 squad. Austin Ekeler returns to the team but he shares the backfield with a make-or-break rookie. Also, that's a lot of Cowboys... Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: C)

5. Renegades: There is nothing too flashy about the Renegades this year. They're looking middle of the pack at this point, with their regular season fate somewhat linked to the Buccaneers offense. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B)

6. Predacons: It seems like the Preds can't shake their ancient draft methods. They again have a strong set of RBs and WRs, but the QB position is...yikes. Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: C)

7. Stiletto Stompers: Don't sleep on the Stompers. They have quality starters at all positions and have a chance to match their solid showing from last season. Especially if the 49ers Defense was worth their mid-rounds pick. Grade: B+ (Yahoo! Grade: B)

8. Baltimorons: The 'Morons earned the top draft grade but not the Best Draft award. Hmm. Either way this team looks like it could be a contender. Grade: B+ (Yahoo! Grade: A-)

9. Phys. Ed. Phenoms: Strong RBs and a high ceiling Joe Burrow could lead PEP back to the playoffs this year. Fingers crossed about the WR corps though. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B)

10. Lightning: That is a lot of Bills, but they are supposed to be a top NFL team again this year. And the Bolts didn't pick a RB until the fifth round. But that might turn out to be the right move too. Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: B)

11. Marauders: Last year's champion looks to have an uphill battle to defend the title. And they need to hope that all the starters stay healthy. One upside is that this is the only place where Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams are on the same team. Grade: C- (Yahoo! Grade: C)

12. Dumbbums: Coach Coaldog cut it close with his showering schedule and login to the draft, but on a positive note we found out that the Commish can both pause the draft and reverse a pick. As for the team he ended up with after all that? It's fine. Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: C)

The Comm-nosticator makes his first predictions soon. Stay tuned.
