The Comm-nosticator is finished for the year, but game previews are not...
#1 Marauders vs. #8 Dumbbums
What a year it was for the Marauders. They broke the season record for points (and average points per game) while securing the top seed and were the only team to go undefeated in their divisional games. Their point totals have dropped some since Rivalry Week but they shouldn't need a huge prime time comeback to beat (or tie) the 'Bums here. Coach Coaldog is the only playoff team with a sub-.500 record. But wait...don't forget about the curse. This one will be closer than you think.
#2 Stiletto Stompers vs. #7 Spiked Vipers
Don't sleep on the Stompers. They finished just a half game behind the Marauders to take second place, outscored the league last week to secure the West Division title and won their last four in a row (and six of their last seven). All signs point to more of the same with a healthy backfield. SpiVi has had an up and down season. They ended up 7-7 and haven't gone over 100 points since week seven. Some of that blame falls on Mahomes and Kelce. Which version of those superstars will show up tonight's game? That might be the difference in this matchup.
#3 the HAW vs. #6 Baltimorons
Last week saw the CAPS leave no doubt about the North. They scored 114 and had the biggest blowout of the week to leapfrog the Brew Crew and win the division. Coach HAW has been victorious in his last four straight, averaging more than 110 points during that run. Things won't be easy against the 'Morons and their Sunday night Saints though. This game will stretch from their five combined starters tonight all the way until Monday night. Will a late field goal attempt be the thing that punches a ticket to the semis?
#4 Predacons vs. #5 Yuengling Brewers
The last time these two played it was not pretty for the Beermen. And last week they scored only 44 points. But this is looking like it could be the closest game of the week. The Preds had the third highest scoring total of the year but have some unfavorable matchups despite the projections. Meanwhile the Brewers will have to wait until closer to gametime to figure out who their QB will be. Along with their four other question marks for this week.
Good luck in the playoffs! The trophy awaits!!
