3FL Notes: S26: Week 1 Preview

Can the Predacons be our first team to three-peat after back-to-back championship victories? Or will we have a new name on the trophy? Can you believe we're starting our second quarter-century of the 3FL?

It all starts tonight. Wednesday for some reason. Get your team ready to go!

And remember, there is also a Thursday Night game this week in Australia, mate.

Week 1 Information

Wednesday Night: New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks
Thursday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams
Sunday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
Monday Night: Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs
Bye Week: None until week 5

And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 1:
The first week is always the toughest to predict, but here goes...

Predacons (-1/2) vs. Marauders
One of these two teams has been our champion for the past three years in a row and now they'll face off in our opening week. Can they make it four? The advantage tilts toward the Preds but with at least one player in every NFL time slot (and more than half in a night game) we'll have action from start to finish.

Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. the HAW
This should be a good one to start the season. The matchups are even and things begin early with a player from each team starting tonight and tomorrow night. It might come down to a FLEX performance to decide the winner.

Lightning (-1) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Between injuries and CEL designations the Stompers have some gaps to fill. The Bolts should cruise in this one, but you just never know. Especially in the first week of the year.

Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Phys. Ed. Phenoms
We'll know a lot more before the weekend starts, as the FitzCorp RBs are both on the field in the NFL's first two games. After that it will come down to how many passes the Corporation's QB throws to PEP's WR1 on Monday night.

Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Unlike a lot of our other matchups, this one won't start until Sunday after lunch. And then it will be all over before the end of that day. SpiVi is projected to win by a few but they'll need all they can get to complete the SNF comeback.

And the game of the week...

Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
Our first GOTW is a good one. Either team could win as things are pretty even across the board. It could come down to the Brew Crew's K on MNF. Or maybe we'll just end up with a tie?

Good luck in Week 1 and for the rest of Season 26!

3FL Notes: 2026 Draft Analysis

Nine of our twelve teams were at least intermittently present during the online draft on Thursday night. Here is an analysis of the results (in draft order):

1. Spiked Vipers: After having the last pick in the draft in 2025, SpiVi got to go first this time around. They not only won the Best Draft award but have put together quite a formidable team. Gibbs and Pickens and Lamar Jackson? Look out. Grade: A- (Yahoo! Grade: B+)

2. Renegades: Thanks to the thunderstorms that rolled through on draft night, autodraft took over for Coach Val this year and put together a decent squad. She probably wouldn't have picked 3 WRs in a row (or a backup TE), but it turned out ok. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: B-)

3. Baltimorons: Yahoo! didn't give out any A draft grades this year, but it did give the 'Morons an F. I don't think it's that bad, especially with a decent set of RBs and the best TE in the game. And if Mahomes returns to form things could be even better. Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: F)

4. the HAW: The CAPS got no love from Yahoo! either, with a draft day projected record of 2-12. They will win more than a couple games, even if they did pick a D and K slightly early. They're solid. Grade: C+ (Yahoo! Grade: D-)

5. Yuengling Brewers: This team is also better than the grade they were given. A talented core is rounded out by the earliest pick of a Kicker in recent memory. They just need to hope their starters can stay healthy. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: D+)

6. Stiletto Stompers: Yikes. There is no award for worst draft, but the Stompers are at the bottom of Yahoo!'s list. I'd like to say it isn't that bad, but it's not good either. Grade: C- (Yahoo! Grade: F)

7. Misfits, Inc: It's been reported that a new CEO has taken over the Corporation, and the first draft under fresh leadership turned out ok. They're strong at WR but have to root for Dak for the second year in a row. Grade: C+ (Yahoo! Grade: C)

8. Predacons: Our 2x defending champ once again waited too long to take a QB. Four RBs in the first six picks give them a quality backfield but left holes elsewhere. Grade: B (Yahoo! Grade: B+)

9. Dumbbums: The 'Bums are right down the middle this year. Some good, some bad, some we'll have to wait and see. But surely better than Yahoo! thinks. Grade: C+ (Yahoo! Grade: D+)

10. Lightning: Taking a TE two rounds in a row was a bit odd, but this team has a lot of star power. They'll be able to keep up with anyone if they can stay away from injuries. Grade: B- (Yahoo! Grade: C-)

11. Phys. Ed. Phenoms: An autopicked team should probably not get an almost failing grade from the platform that autopicked for it. There are a lot of Ravens here but that could be good? Grade: C (Yahoo! Grade: D-)

12. Marauders: Coach Hoss went RB/WR for the first three times around the turn, giving them some good skill players but a tough decision at QB every week. But, the Rams D, too! Grade: C- (Yahoo! Grade: D-)

The Comm-nosticator makes his first predictions soon. Stay tuned.
