3FL Notes: S23: Week 15 (Quarterfinals) Preview

One point. That's how close the Lightning came to holding on to a playoff spot. Near the end of his MNF game, Saquon Barkley lost a fumble for just the third time in 1,400+ career touches. That -2 put the Bolts down by a single point and elevated the Phenoms (who held off the 'Morons in prime time) into the postseason. Now it's time to start the journey to the SuperBowl!

There are six games outside the Sunday afternoon time slots this week, including three on Saturday. Make sure to have your players in position before their games start!

Remember that ROSTERS WILL LOCK AT 1pm THIS SUNDAY, December 17th. Under our playoff rules you will be allowed to make 1 add/drop per week once the postseason starts, but only teams still in the winners bracket will be eligible to make a move (with waivers set in reverse order of seeding).

Three wins in a row wins it all!!

The Comm-nosticator is finished for the year, but game previews are not...

All four East Division teams qualified for the playoffs this year. And, interestingly enough, all four of our quarterfinal matchups are divisional games. So this will be the third time this year that each of these teams will play one another.

#1 Yuengling Brewers vs. #8 Phys. Ed. Phenoms
The Brew Crew finished the regular season as the top seed and highest scoring team, and they ended up with the fourth highest season team points total of all time – for the second straight year (all of those things). They're also on a nine game winning streak. The Phenoms snuck into the playoffs last week, but we all know you can never rule out the curse.

#2 the HAW vs. #7 Spiked Vipers
This might be our best matchup of the quarterfinals. The CAPS have a better record but SpiVi has scored more points. They're 1-1 against each other in the regular season and they're evenly matched here. The Steelers-Colts game and Tyreek Hill's health will be big for the Vipers, but perhaps some MNF magic will push Coach HAW to the semis?

#3 Predacons vs. #6 Baltimorons
Just two weeks ago, these two teams played to our only tie of the year. That could happen again. The 'Morons have an edge in the projections, but will they need another Monday night comeback to pull things even? The Preds have the tiebreaker because of their week three head-to-head victory. You know, in case we need that information.

#4 Marauders vs. #5 Renegades
Another great matchup highlights our week 15 schedule. These two finished with even records and divisional records, but the Marauders scored more total points so they took the West Division crown. The Renegades did make more than 4x the number of add/drops though. Getting down to the game, it really could go either way. A healthy Raheem Mostert might tip the advantage to Coach Hoss.

Good luck in the playoffs! The trophy awaits!!
