3FL Notes: S12: Week 16 (SuperBowl) Preview
For the second year in a row we are guaranteed to have a new name added to the championship trophy! The Lightning and Misfits, Inc. both earned convincing wins to set up a battle of the seventh and eighth seeds in this year's SuperBowl.
Who will be receiving an etched trophy plate as an early Christmas present? We'll have to watch and see.

Week 16 Information
Saturday Night: Atlanta Falcons @ Detroit Lions
Sunday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks
Here we go...it's SuperBowl week in the 3FL!
For 7th Place:
#2 Marauders vs. #5 Predacons
These two teams will end up as our last two in the consolation bracket and for good reason. All Coach Hoss needed to do was start the kicker on his roster who is not on injured reserve and he'd instead be playing for 5th place. All the Predacons needed to do was make better start/bench decisions for pretty much the entire season. And to have not picked Jay Cutler. But here we are, vying to be the one not to lose three playoff games in a row. It will be a low scoring nail biter for almost nothing at all.
For 5th Place:
#1 Spiked Vipers vs. #3 Yuengling Brewers
Near the end of the regular season it looked like this might be the SuperBowl matchup. These teams were 1-2 in total points and looking like either might end up winning the trophy for a second time. But things have a way of working out a little differently here in the 3FL. Instead they'll play a great, high-flying matchup to see who wins the consolation bracket.
For 3rd Place:
#4 ray ray haw vs. #6 Baltimorons
Both of these teams had a terrible week 15 and so they end up here, trying to get a digital bronze trophy added to their Yahoo! fantasy profile. 36 and 44 points (respectively) in the semifinals won't get you a shot a the real trophy. But don't feel to bad for them. These two have a combined five 3FL championships. This game will feature the benching of two starting QBs and it will come down to the last NFL game of our playoffs to decide the victor, long after our SuperBowl is over.
3FL SuperBowl XII
#7 Lightning vs. #8 Misfits, Inc.
Well, this is interesting. Both of these 3FL South teams needed week 13 and a little luck to get into the playoffs - who would have thought that they'd end up here? We're guaranteed to have our third champion with a losing regular season record.
Coach Thadtotti's team is appearing in its first ever championship game while the Corporation has been here twice before. The Lightning won both head-to-head matchups this year, but only by a combined 10 points. It's going to be a great game to determine our 2012 champion. We'll start the festivities on Saturday night and things will be decided before the feats of strength on Festivus evening.
The Bolts are a little banged up but it looks like they're going to get LaSean McCoy back for the SuperBowl. Of course, they didn't need him last week as they cruised to victory with only 8 starting players. FitzCorp comes in as the projected favorite, but that hasn't been a good scenario for them in the past. Can Adrian Peterson continue his insane season? Which Matt Ryan will show up? And whose name will be forever etched upon the 3FL trophy? We've got one weekend to find out!
Happy Festivus, Merry Christmas and good luck this week.
Thanks to all for another fun season!

3FL Notes: S12: Week 15 (Semifinals) Preview
Well, what do you know. Another crazy first round of the playoffs. Our top three seeds are all bounced from the bracket, we had our highest scoring player (Team Defense) in postseason history, and half of our games came down to a Monday Night Football comeback.
Note: All individual team pages (see links on the sidebar) and the 3FL Records have been updated and show statistics through the end of the 2012 regular season. This year's additions to the records page are in bold - and there are a lot of them. Through 954 regular season games we have scored a combined 114,995 points.
Week 14 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Baltimorons - 101 points

Week 15 Information
Thursday Night: Cincinnati Bengals @ Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ New England Patriots
Monday Night: New York Jets @ Tennessee Titans
Semifinal Games
(Winners play in 3FL SuperBowl XII, losers play for 3rd Place)
#4 THE Haw vs. #8 Misfits, Inc.
WOW. Even though they were the last team to sneak into the playoffs, FitzCorp took out the top seed and the game wasn't ever really in doubt. Meanwhile THE Haw came back from being down 45 points on Sunday at 4:30pm. It will be Manning vs. Manning, top RB vs. top RB, and a Thursday night start for both of these two to earn a spot in the SuperBowl. An instant classic in the making.
#6 Baltimorons vs. #7 Lightning
This one will be a great battle to see who ends up as the underdog in the SuperBowl. The 'Morons topped the century mark last week - that's more than their combined total in the two weeks prior. The 'Bolts completed an improbable MNF comeback but lost a couple of players in the process. And by lost I mean he may not have a full complement of starters for the rest of the playoffs. An unfortunate occurrence in Coach Thadtotti's bid to play in his first ever SuperBowl.
Consolation Games
(Winners play for 5th Place, losers play for 7th)
#1 Spiked Vipers vs. #5 Predacons
The curse strikes again. SpiVi's hopes for a second trophy plate are dashed for this season, but that doesn't mean that they can't (and won't) win out and end up in 5th place. Disappointing for sure, but the curse is 11/12 so far. The Preds had a chance to make it all low seeds in the semifinals, but they once again left the necessary points on the bench. It's a 2012 theme for them. And they probably aren't finished with it.
#2 Marauders vs. #3 Yuengling Brewers
This was supposed to be the matchup that would get one of these two into the SuperBowl. Instead the loser of this game is going to be playing to avoid 8th place. Coach Hoss kept two kickers on his playoff roster. Did he somehow know that Robbie Gould was going to be injured and on IR? The Brew Crew now has to give up the trophy after displaying it for the past year. This is going to be the best but most depressing game of the week.
Good luck this week. The SuperBowl is one win away!

Week 14 Information
Thursday Night: Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders
Sunday Night: Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers
Monday Night: Houston Texans @ New England Patriots
The Comm-nosticator is finished for the year, but game previews are not...
#1 Spiked Vipers vs. #8 Misfits, Inc.
Is SpiVi ready for the playoffs or is the curse going to strike? After a great first 12 weeks of the regular season the Vipers were terrible last week. That's not the way anyone wants to roll into the postseason (even the league's top scoring team). Meanwhile, everything went right for FitzCorp as they clawed their way into the last playoff spot. Would anyone be surprised if the #8 seed beat the #1 seed? You shouldn't be. Starting tonight and through MNF, this game is going to be really close. And keep in mind that if they played each other last week the Corporation would have won by almost 60 points.
#2 Marauders vs. #7 Lightning
The Marauders have had their postseason ticket punched for quite some time. They won their division and are the only team to qualify for the playoffs from the 3FL East. And they're going to come into week 14 as an underdog to the Bolts, who come in with an under .500 record and a two game losing streak. It looks like it will come down to which of these teams' Jekyll and Hyde QB shows up this week - both Cam Newton and Matty Ice have been great and awful. The Marauders are poised for a Sunday/Monday night comeback, but will the game be out of hand before then?
#3 Yuengling Brewers vs. #6 Baltimorons
These teams have identical records but the Brewers have scored 240 more points than the 'Morons this season. You read that correctly - 240! But none of that matters now. You would think that this one won't be close, but Coach Drew's squad soundly beat Coach Brew's squad in week 11. Can that happen again? Of course. The 'Morons need to make the right choices at WR and Baltimore's D needs to contain RGIII. And then all bets are off.
#4 THE Haw vs. #5 Predacons
A classic in the making, this one pits the three-time champion Haw against the Preds, who have qualified for the playoffs in all but one of our 12 seasons. Even with a suspect QB situation, the Predacons won the 3FL South and ended up as the fifth seed, while THE Haw managed to be in the top four despite a name and capital letters count change. It might not be a classic in the traditional way (a close matchup) but it's possible to see a QB score negative points or a bench outscore the starting roster. Coach Haw should move on to the next round, but you never know. They currently have ALL of the 3FL pick'em votes. That's not usually a good sign.
Good luck in the playoffs! The trophy awaits!

3FL Notes: S12: Week 13 Preview
Only half of our tickets to the playoffs are punched as we enter this final week of the regular season. Six teams still have a shot at the four remaining postseason spots. Another crazy regular season is about to figure itself out with as much drama as you can stuff into a single fantasy football weekend. Here we go!

Week 13 Information
Thursday Night: New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons
Sunday Night: Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys
Monday Night: New York Giants @ Washington Redskins
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 13:
Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
Not too much drama here. The Stompers are out while the Marauders are in and have clinched the division. But that doesn't mean that Coach Bev can't run up another score to end the season. We've seen it before.
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Renegades
It's a shame that what looks to be out best matchup of the week is just about meaningless. Sure, the Renegades would like to end the season with a couple of wins before they regroup for next year, and the Bolts don't have a playoff spot shored up just yet - but with the points total they have scored already we can pencil them in.
And the games of the week...
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. THE Haw
SpiVi has already clinched the #1 seed (for better or worse) but I don't think they're going to rest before the postseason. They have a chance to possibly knock their division rival (and father) out of the playoffs. But more importantly, 65 points will put them on the list of top season scorers of all time (and 99 points will put them at the top of that list). It couldn't be a tougher matchup for the CAPs - having to face our top scorer while riding a three game skid isn't ideal. Prime time will seal Coach Haw's 2012 fate.
Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. The Comfy Chair
What a great divisional matchup this will be. The 'Bums need a win for a chance to play next week but they also need some help. Outscoring the whole league for a second straight week couldn't hurt that cause. The Chair is in with a win, but probably also in with a loss. But would you rely on a "probably" with the way things have a way of going in this league?
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
It has been a disappointing season thus far for FitzCorp, but that could all change this week. First they need a win against the North Division champ Brew Crew and some help from across the league to get into the playoffs. After that anything is possible. We'll all have to wait for the Beermen's RGIII on Monday night to see if the Corporation's season continues.
Predacons (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
It all comes down to this for the 3FL South division title. The 'Morons have been on top all year, but the Preds can leapfrog them with a win this week. Not only that, Coach Sinkerbeam will earn a playoff spot with a win, but might be left out of the postseason for only the second time in our league's history with a loss. It would help if he made at least one right decision on which players to start/bench. It's going to be a good one!

3FL Notes: S12: Week 12 Preview
Our first two playoff spots were claimed last week - one by our highest scoring team and one by our lowest scoring team. What?
Don't forget that the trade deadline is tomorrow. You know, for trading players between teams. Whatever that's like.
The NFL bye weeks are over and we have only two weeks left to earn the last six tickets to the postseason. Let's do this!!
Week 11 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Spiked Vipers - 91 points
Player MVPs:
Robert Griffin III (QB/Was) - 32 points
Tom Brady (QB/NE) - 24 points
Drew Brees (QB/NO) - 22 points
Andy Dalton (QB/Cin) - 22 points

Yahoo! Projections: 37/66 - 56.06%
The voting deadline is before the first game starts at 12:30pm on Thanksgiving! Go vote!!
Week 12 Information
Thanksgiving Early: Houston Texans @ Detroit Lions
Thanksgiving Late: Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys
Thanksgiving Night: New England Patriots @ New York Jets
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ New York Giants
Monday Night: Carolina Panthers @ Philadelphia Eagles
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 12:
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. The Comfy Chair
These two come into this game with identical records and total points scored within 10 of each other for the first 11 weeks. They are currently 8 and 9 in the standings but whoever takes the loss this week will be guaranteed a losing season (and not guaranteed a spot in the playoffs). It should be closer than the projections and we'll have to wait until prime time to sort things out for real.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Predacons
SpiVi is coming off a pretty good week - they scored the most points in the league, moved into the top spot in scoring for the year, and claimed the first spot in the playoffs. So they can take a couple of weeks off, right? Probably not. Drew Brees might outscore the Preds by himself.
Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. THE Haw
The Stompers improbable run as top scorers of the week is over, but they still have some spoiling to do. Plus they can still make the playoffs with two wins and a little luck. If the CAPs want to make it into the postseason they had better pick it up (and pick the right QB from that bunch of guys on the roster).
Renegades (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
In a normal world this would be a battle for division supremacy. Of course, in a normal world the Renegades wouldn't be riding a five game losing streak and teetering on playoff elimination. Did you know that the 'Morons have scored 109 less points than the 'Gades so far this season? I'm sure you know that that makes no difference at all.
Marauders (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
I hope you're hungry. These teams have a combined seven players going on Thanksgiving day and then they'll wrap it up with some Cam Newton on Monday night. The Marauders are already guaranteed the division title and a postseason spot, but another win couldn't hurt. The 'Bums need this one to have a real shot at the playoffs. It's another divisional classic in the making.
And the game of the week...
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Lightning
It just about comes down to this for the 3FL North, and it's going to be a good one. RGIII vs. Matty Ice (who won't score negative points this week) is the key matchup, but it looks like the RBs might be the difference. It will take us from Thanksgiving all the way through until Monday night. Here we go!
Happy Thanksgiving and good luck this week!

3FL Notes: S12: Week 11 Preview
Don't look now, but the Stompers just outscored everyone for the third straight week in a row. Now if it wasn't for those first seven losses...
We only have three weeks left in the regular season but not one team has secured a playoff spot. Not one! This last set of intra-divisional games is more important than ever.
Week 10 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Stiletto Stompers - 93 points

Week 11 Information
Thursday Night: Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
Sunday Night: Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Monday Night: Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers
Bye Week: Vikings, Giants, Seahawks, Titans
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 11:
Predacons (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Aaron Rodgers is back from his bye, but he was also around for the first three weeks of the Renegades current four game losing streak. Plus, they have four more players without games this week. It will be close, though, because the Preds seem to always keep their highest scorers on the bench.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Coach Googlymoogly's team has been flying high all year and are currently alone in first place in the 3FL. But we all know about the Stompers last few weeks. Can they run their highest scorer title to four straight? They might have to in order to beat SpiVi.
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
How is it that the highest and lowest scoring teams in our league have the same record after the first 10 weeks of the season? Because it's crazy. You should know that by now. The Brew Crew looks a bit different with their bye week crew on the bench, but they should be able to slip by the 'Morons in a close one. Another MNF matchup will decide if things in this league get even crazier.
Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. THE Haw
He wrote what? I'm picking the 'Bums because of the bye week damage that is happening to the CAPs, but we all know that this one is probably going to go the other way. Especially when Coach Coaldog has to watch his two Steelers on Sunday night. His team had better be ahead before that game starts...
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
These two have been chasing the Brewers in the 3FL North all season. But for one of them it will most likely mean elimination from a shot at the division crown. Can the Corporation score enough points in the early games to withstand a Sunday night storm from the Bolts? And can they do it with Adrian Peterson on a bye?
And the game of the week...
The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Marauders
This is going to be a good matchup - if Coach Hoss remembers to set his lineup before tonight's game. We'll need to track it all week, with the final say waiting until MNF with two 49ers and one Bear. A Marauders win would just about seal a division title. A Chair victory will put things up for grabs.
Good luck this week.

Week 10 Information
Thursday Night: Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday Night: Houston Texans @ Chicago Bears
Monday Night: Kansas City Chiefs @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Bye Week: Cardinals, Browns, Packers, Redskins
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for rivalry week!:
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Predacons
These two are going to put up quite a fight as they both claw to hold on to a playoff spot. It might be the wrong week for the Preds, though. Plus they will leave all the points on the bench - a problem when you're up against Peyton and Peterson with favorable matchups.
Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
This matchup is great every year and this season's version won't disappoint. Can you believe that the Stompers can match the 'Gades record with a win this week? And that Coach Bev has outscored Coach Val by 70 points - in the past two weeks? Plus, bunch of the Renegades are on a bye this week. You know, like Aaron Rodgers.
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. THE Haw
This rivalry week is sure coming up with some great matchups. This one used to be preceded with a week of smack talk but things have been pretty quiet over the past few years. It will be D vs. D on Sunday night and then one more shot for a CAPs comeback on Monday night. Try to stay awake.
Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
That BaltiMagic continues and who can pick against Coach Drew right now? Especially when they are facing the #12 'Bums. Actually, Coach Coaldog has scored 5 more points this year than his eldest but Coach Drew has four more wins. It doesn't have to make sense. These two combine to have four Steelers going on MNF. Like they need a reason to watch.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. The Comfy Chair
Even though the Green Bay bye will take a little air out of this matchup, it's still going to be a good one. Brees vs. Brady is the headline, but I have a feeling that one of the lesser-knowns will step up and take over this game. And we'll know the winner late on Sunday afternoon.
And the game of the week...
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Marauders
It looks like this one will be a barnburner. With even projections across positions it looks like it's going to come down to the kickers; there will be one on Sunday night and one on Monday night after the rest of the starters are finished. A missed field goal and -1 point might be an interesting way to finish up rivalry week.
Good luck this week.

Week 8 Recap

Week 9 Information
Thursday Night: Chiefs @ Chargers
Sunday Night: Cowboys @ Falcons
Monday Night: Eagles @ Saints
Bye Week: Patriots, Jets, 49ers, Rams
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 9:
Spiked Vipers (-1) vs. Marauders
This matchup features two division leaders headed in the opposite direction. The Vipers have won three straight and have jumped up to the top spot in the league. The Marauders have lost three straight and have fallen from the top spot down to number five. Those trends will continue this week.
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
The 'Morons will start out ahead after Thursday night, but the Bolts have a lot of prime time players scheduled to surge to a comeback victory. Although, who can rule out another victory by Coach Drew? There is some magic surrounding him this year. How else do you explain his record and point total?
Yuengling Brewers (-1) vs. Predacons
The Brew Crew won with a prime time comeback two weeks ago but was on the wrong end of one last week. They dropped all the way down to second place overall (but are still our top scoring team). Meanwhile, how are the Preds at .500? Half of that luck runs out in this replay of last year's Superbowl.
Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
Well, that's one way to stop a losing streak. The Stompers hit the century mark and got their first win with authority. Can they keep it up against the Dumbbums? This game is probably the last hope for each of these teams and it will be a good one. The loser gets last place with only four weeks to go.
THE Haw (-1) vs. The Comfy Chair
It's a shame that the battle of our teams containing a "The" happens this week - when the Chair has a majority of its squad on a bye. The good news is that the byes are almost over. The bad news is that Christian Ponder and Cecil Shorts are in the starting lineup for Coach Skrabby. Go easy, Haw.
And the game of the week...
Renegades (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Both of these teams had much higher expectations for this season, but for the loser of this game it might mean the end of their playoff hopes. It will be close through the whole week and all come down to Monday night, when Coach Tim'A's beloved E-A-G-L-E-S and D.Jax fight for the Corporation. Can they survive Aaron Rodgers and the Renegades? Will this end in a tie? It's going to be that good.
Good luck this week.
Also of note - our two highest scorers and our two lowest scorers are currently in first place in their respective divisions.

3FL Notes: S12: Week 8 Preview
What a finish! The Brewers clawed to a Monday night lead only to see it almost vaporize with 30 seconds left in the game. They were lucky to hold on for a 1 point win against the Chair (but I'm pretty sure that Coach Brew was asleep and unaware of the unfolding drama).
Meanwhile, the Stompers are continuing their slide in the wrong direction. Their losing streak has reached 8 (since week 13 of 2011) and they are now tied for 2nd place all time. A loss this week will match our worst streak ever.
Week 7 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Spiked Vipers & THE Haw - 90 points

Week 8 Information
Thursday Night: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Minnesota Vikings
Sunday Night: New Orleans Saints @ Denver Broncos
Monday Night: San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals
Bye Week: Ravens, Bills, Bengals, Texans
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 8:
The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Brady vs. Rodgers. Two on Sunday night. Three on Monday night. Big scores and big thrills will take this one to the end of the week again for the Chair. It's really a toss up, but it will be fun to see what happens.
Dumbbums (-1/2) vs. Predacons
As long as the 'Bums pick up some bye player fill-ins, they should be fine this week. The Preds can't seem to put their individual players' good weeks together at the same time. Plus, you know, Jay Cutler.
Lightning (-1/2) vs. THE Haw
Why am I picking the Bolts again? Well, the CAPs have their two best RBs on a bye this week. That should be just enough to let Coach ThadTotti sneak to a victory. Especially with Matt Ryan back in the lineup.
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
This will be a fun one to watch and it has players spread from Thursday until Monday night. But it looks like the Stompers may end up at the top of the losing streak record list after it's all over. Blame it on the great waiver wire pickups of the Corporation.
Marauders (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
It's the battle of division leaders who have scored less than (or equal to) the rest of the teams in their divisions. The Marauders have been falling down the last couple of weeks after a torrid start to the season. I'm blaming Cam Newton. The 'Morons definitely have a chance this one (if they remember to hit the waiver wire before Sunday afternoon).
And the game of the week...
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
It should be a crazy matchup between our two top teams (and top two scorers). These two have combined to score over 1,000 points after our first seven weeks. It will all come down to Sunday night when a combined three Saints decide who ends up in the #1 spot with only five weeks left in the regular season.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S12: Week 7 Preview
A MNF shootout and a record tying individual performance highlighted a wild week in the 3FL. The Marauders also picked up their first loss in the last seven regular season weeks. What's next?
Week 6 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Renegades - 90 points

Thursday Night: Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers
Sunday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
Monday Night: Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
Bye Week: Dolphins, Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Eagles, Falcons
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 7:
THE Haw (-1) vs. Predacons
The CAPs gave our only remaining undefeated team their first loss last week. Now they'll face the surprising Preds, who may or may not be returning Jay Cutler to the starting QB position. At least Coach Sinkerbeam will get to watch the implosion of his team on Monday night.
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The Bolts have their starting QB, RB and TE on a bye. That should be a sure loss for any fantasy football team, but for some reason the matchups are going to make this one close. It's all going to come down to a couple of coaching decisions and the Steelers/Bengals game on Sunday night. You know we all can't wait to hear Al Michaels say Roethlisberger.
Marauders (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Coach Hoss took his first loss last week (and his team only scored 24 points in the effort). FitzCorp doubled their win total with a Peyton Manning MNF second half outburst. In fact, the 5-1 Marauders have scored 31 less points than the 2-4 Corporation this season. But none of that matters. What matters is that a combined six starters are on a bye.
Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
The Stompers haven't had much luck this year. They have lost six straight (seven if you go back to week 13 of 2011). The 'Morons have lost their last three in a row. So the good news here is that one of them will break their streak and pick up a win. The bad news is that we all have to vote before either of them hits the waiver wire to pick up two starters each.
And the games of the week...
The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Yuengling Brewers
We'll begin and end the NFL week with players from this battle of the 4-2s. A combined four will play tonight and then the Brewers' D will attempt to push them ahead on MNF. It's almost too close to call, but I'm going with the team that will be starting an angry Tom Brady.
Renegades (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
Yes, a second game of the week. How could I just pick one of these two amazing matchups? This one will feature Rodgers vs. Brees in what should be the highest flying game of the year. SpiVi is 2nd overall in scoring, but the 'Gades outscored the rest of the league for the past two weeks in a row. The points are coming in waves. And we'll know the winner by 7:30pm on Sunday night.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S12: Week 6 Preview
The Marauders kept winning, the Stompers kept losing, and the Renegades posted the most weekly points in three years. Plus, the Brewers are still on pace to break the season total points record.
The next two months should be very interesting.
Week 5 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Renegades - 119 points (T-4th all time)

Week 6 Information
Thursday Night: Tennessee Titans @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday Night: Green Bay Packers @ Houston Texans
Monday Night: Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
Bye Week: Panthers, Bears, Jaguars, Saints
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 6:
The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Stompers have fallen to 0-5, but things are going to be very close this week against the Chair. The matchups are even and it should be a great game. But Willis McGehee will score just enough points on MNF to keep the furniture ahead of the winless footwear.
THE Haw (-1/2) vs. Marauders
The Marauders got away with one against the Preds, but with Cam Newton on a bye it may make this the week they earn their first loss. The CAPs definitely have the roster to get this win - as long as they pick the right Defense. And everyone is going to need to make it through a bunch of prime time players.
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
It's been a rough start of the year for FitzCorp. They only have one win and are at the bottom of their division. The 'Morons have a winning record and are at the top of their division. But the Corporation has scored 43 more points in 2012 than their game counterpart. Is this the week where it starts to even out and make sense? For these two anyway...
Lightning (-1) vs. Predacons
Interesting fact - the Preds would have defeated the undefeated Marauders last week if they had started Jay Cutler. It doesn't seem like it matters who they start this week. The Bolts are second in the league in scoring. The Preds are last, and a turnaround is nowhere in sight.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The 'Bums have a shot at an upset this week, especially with Drew Brees on a bye. We'll know plenty more after tonight's Steelers game (when 1/3 of Coach Coaldog's team is on the field). But it's more likely that the other prime time games hold the keys to this matchup.
And the game of the week...
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Renegades
The Brewers have been a juggernaut all year. The Renegades have been on the rise and scored almost 120 points last week. This one is going to be great. And it's going to come down to Sunday night. Unless the Brewers forget to start a Defense - then all of this means nothing and I want to switch my pick.
Good luck this week.
The next two months should be very interesting.

3FL Notes: S12: Week 5 Preview
What a high-flying week!
Half of the league scored in the 80s and it ended up as our second highest scoring week of all time. And we now only have one undefeated and one winless team.
Can you believe we're already almost a third of the way through the regular season?

Thursday Night: Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams
Sunday Night: San Diego Chargers @ New Orleans Saints
Monday Night: Houston Texans @ New York Jets
Bye Week: Cowboys, Lions, Raiders, Buccaneers
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 5:
Marauders (-1/2) vs. Predacons
The Marauders stand alone as our last undefeated team and they look to continue their roll against the low scoring Preds. Even though his team got back on track last week, Coach Sinkerbeam will now have to pair underachievement with a heavy bye week. Good luck with that.
Yuengling Brewers (-1) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Brew Crew suffered its first loss last week, ending their winning streak at seven games. The Stompers are off to a terrible start but the league's lowest scorers could have a surprise in store this week for the league's highest scorers. Like, a prime time comeback type of surprise.
THE Haw (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
Any other week would have FitzCorp favored. But with bye week fill-ins starting at RB and WR for the Corporation, the slightest of edges goes to the CAPs (you know, like Capital Letters). Both teams also get the agonizing stretch of Thursday through Sunday night action.
Renegades (-1) vs. Dumbbums
Hey! There is #1 draft choice Aaron Rodgers! He was hiding behind the couch the whole time!! The Renegades QB finally had a break out week and gave them their first victory of 2012. Can he keep it up? One of these two will double their W total this week and the other will have an uphill battle for a playoff spot.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Lightning
If there is any team with a shot to give the Vipers their second loss, it's the Bolts during this week. It should be a close one right down to Sunday night when each team has two players going for their final say. Stream it live at NBC Sports: SNF All Access, where you can change the camera angles live on your computer. Make some nachos first.
And the game of the week...
The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
With a starter at every game time this week, the 'Morons will slowly build up their score against the Chair. Coach Skrabby and last week's top scoring team don't have any prime time or weekday games. But they do have Tom Brady. So there's that.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S12: Week 4 Preview
The rich get richer and the poor get, well, more losses. After three weeks we have three undefeated and three winless teams. We're guaranteed to reduce the first number by at least one this week.

Week 4 Information
Thursday Night: Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens
Sunday Night: New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
Monday Night: Chicago Bears @ Dallas Cowboys
Bye Week: Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 4:
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Marauders
A loss is coming for one of these 3-0 teams. It's going to be a great battle, but who would bet against the league's top scoring Brew Crew? A win this week will take them to eight straight victories going back to last season's final week of the regular season.
Misfits, Inc. (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
FitzCorp will finally get their first win of the season and be on the positive side of a prime time comeback. Unless the 'Bums can keep up their 80+ point momentum. Actually it wouldn't be surprising to have the corporation score 100 and Coach Coaldog put up 101 just for fun.
Spiked Vipers (-1) vs. Baltimorons
How are the 'Morons still undefeated? It doesn't matter. SpiVi will take care of that situation this week, venting some frustration after a tough divisional loss last week. Plus, half of Coach Drew's squad is injured and unavailable.
Predacons (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
Well, I had to pick one of these two to win. Flipped a coin. What is going on? These teams should both be scoring more points and doing better than sharing a single win between them. Is this the week one of them breaks out? That depends on who the starting QBs are...
Lightning (-1/2) vs. The Comfy Chair
With three players going tonight, the Bolts will give us a pretty good early idea of where their week is heading. Meanwhile, I hope that the Chair isn't banking on a big game from Kevin Ogletree on Monday night. But there's always Tom Brady to make the prime time games merely meaningless.
And the game of the week...
THE Haw (-1/2) vs. Renegades
Will the anger from Monday night's referee debacle loss push Aaron Rodgers to finally start playing like a #1 pick? I'm not sure, but I'm not picking the Renegades to win again until they show that they can put up more than a couple of points in a week. Plus THE Haw are leading the West division and ready for a big Sunday night.
Good luck this week.
Remember that the byes are starting. Who can you afford to keep on your active roster?

Will the anger from Monday night's referee debacle loss push Aaron Rodgers to finally start playing like a #1 pick? I'm not sure, but I'm not picking the Renegades to win again until they show that they can put up more than a couple of points in a week. Plus THE Haw are leading the West division and ready for a big Sunday night.
Good luck this week.

Week 3 Information
Thursday Night: New York Giants @ Carolina Panthers
Sunday Night: New England Patriots @ Baltimore Ravens
Monday Night: Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks
Bye Week: None until week 4
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 3:
Renegades (-1/2) vs. Marauders
OK, I'll start the week with a reach. Why am I picking the winless Renegades over the undefeated Marauders? I have no idea. But at some point Aaron Rodgers is going to play a game to his #1 pick potential, right? Why not this week? But this pick might change depending on which team forgets to adjust their lineup and remove the red "O" before tonight's game.
Spiked Vipers (-1) vs. THE Haw
I don't see the Vipers losing a game anytime soon. Even against their mentor and his bunch of Giants. Eight of their eighteen play after eight p.m. this week, so that might be some fun watching and smack talking. For one of them.
The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
The 'Bums are replacing their QB this week to take advantage of a game against the Browns. He should hope that strategy doesn't backfire against Tom Brady and the Chair. This one will be close until Monday night, but not so much after then.
Baltimorons (-1/2) vs. Predacons
After looking passable in week one, Jay Cutler put up a goose egg for the Preds last week. And the rest of the team didn't do much better - their 30 point total was the lowest for Coach Sinkerbeam since season 1. The 'Morons will look for their Defense to use MNF to take this game and a commanding lead in the South Division. Although they might not even need it.
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Stiletto Stompers
The Stompers have started out the season a little unlucky and it doesn't help that Matthew Stafford is underperforming. It looks like he may be sitting out this week to make room for Joe Flacco (what?) as one of four combined players on Sunday night. Should be an exciting one, right down to the last blow of a replacement ref's whistle.
And the game of the week...
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
The Brew Crew are rolling along this season after almost one time changing their lineup from the auto picks. FitzCorp can't get seem to catch a break, scoring a bunch of points but entering the week without a win. This matchup is even, but the corporation is early week heavy while the Brewers have more players in the later prime time games. It will be gut wrenching. Especially if their streaks continue.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S12: Week 2 Preview
Our first week saw a Monday night comeback, a one point game, and a 100+ score. Looks like this season is picking up right where the last one left off...
Week 1 Recap
Top Scoring 3FL Team: Yuengling Brewers - 102 points
Player MVPs:
Matt Ryan (QB/Atl) - 30 points
Tony Romo (QB/Dal) - 22 points
Drew Brees (QB/NO) - 20 points

Week 2 Information
Thursday Night: Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers
Sunday Night: Detroit Lions @ San Francisco 49ers
Monday Night: Denver Broncos @ Atlanta Falcons
Bye Week: None until week 4
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 2:
Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. THE Haw
What an unlucky week for the Stompers. They put up a respectable 74 points, only to be edged out by an amazing MNF comeback. The tables will turn this week, though, with COACH Haw watching as the shoes drop two in prime time. And one of them is Matthew Stafford.
Spiked Vipers (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
These two high flying teams will score a lot of points, but the matchups favor SpiVi just a bit. Both of them had big Monday nights last week and that will happen again. Get out the nachos and tune in.
Lightning (-1) vs. Yuengling Brewers
Yahoo! sure does pick a good team, no? The defending champs crushed everyone last week by crossing the century mark without live drafting (or even looking at) their roster. It's back to earth this week, though, as the Bolts look to go 2-0 in the division.
Renegades (-1/2) vs. Baltimorons
The #1 pick and the rest of the Renegades looked pretty pedestrian last week. That will all change with a Thursday night matchup at Lambeau that should right the ship. Unless Matt Forte steals the spotlight.
The Comfy Chair (-1/2) vs. Predacons
It's a good week for these two to face off - both are on a bye in the first round of the fantasy baseball playoffs. With a combined 4 players on Thursday night and 3 players on Monday night, it's all going to be decided in prime time. And let's see what the much discussed Kevin Ogletree has to say this week.
And the game of the week...
Marauders (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
A great matchup from top to bottom, this one will be all over the place. The Marauders have at least one player in every time slot while the 'Bums will start everyone between 1pm and 7:30pm on Sunday. It will be decided by the slimmest of margins.
Good luck this week.

3FL Notes: S12: Week 1 Preview
Season 12 begins tonight!
Can the Brewers retain the trophy? Will the Lightning finally play in the big game? How will THE Haw deal with all of those capital letters? Can anyone else sign up for a Twitter account? Only the 3FL season will have the answers...
It all starts on Wednesday night!
Remember to have your starting lineups set 5 minutes before the games begin this week. Any players in the Cowboys vs. Giants game will be locked in whichever lineup position you have them at 8:25pm EDT tonight.
Coach Thadtotti once again put together our customized schedule. This year divisional games will be played in weeks 1-3 and 11-13 and week 10 will again our rivalry week. Thanks, spreadsheetgeek.
Voting is up and running for the season. It is actually a pick'em game within the league page. Make sure you vote on all the 3FL games before the beginning of tonight's NFL game and Yahoo! will keep track for us this year. And all managers can vote individually.
Here we go!
Week 1 Information
Wednesday Night: Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
Sunday Night: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos
Monday Night Early: Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
Monday Night Late: San Diego Chargers @ Oakland Raiders
Bye Week: None until week 4
And now the Comm-nosticator’s predictions for week 1:
The first week is always the toughest to predict, but here goes...
Lightning (-1/2) vs. Misfits, Inc.
We'll know a lot more about this one after tonight's game. The Bolts have a player in each time slot this week, so that will be interesting. Also interesting - the Corp will be rooting against LeSean McCoy (sort of) and the Lightning will be rooting for the Ravens Defense.
Renegades (-1/2) vs. Predacons
This battle looks about even except for the QB matchup. #1 overall pick Aaron Rodgers leads the Renegades against the 13th QB picked in the draft, Jay Cutler. The difference will be painfully obvious for the Preds, who may need to get used to this storyline.
THE Haw (-1) vs. Baltimorons
Coach Haw is hoping to start the week off right - he has three players in tonight's game. That's almost more than the Cowboys. But with Arian Foster holding down Sunday, the 'Morons are going to have a tough time this week (despite having starters spread throughout the schedule).
Yuengling Brewers (-1/2) vs. Dumbbums
Neither of these teams was at the controls during the draft, but they should both at least have a look at their lineups before the NFL games begin. Seabass should put the Brew Crew up for good in the late Monday night game (long after bed time). But Coach Coaldog may actually get a phone call from Kendall Wright to thank him for the starting roster spot. Heartwarming. But not winning.
Marauders (-1/2) vs. The Comfy Chair
That Chair logo doesn't look particularly comfy again this year. Just saying. Anyway, Tom Brady will put up some big numbers but it might not be enough to reach the Marauders. As long as Coach Hoss replaces the infirmed in his current starting lineup.
And the game of the week...
Stiletto Stompers (-1/2) vs. Spiked Vipers
What a great matchup from top to bottom. The Stompers should have the lead going into the two MNF games as everyone tries to stay up and watch SpiVi attempt the comeback. It will be a fitting end to a very competitive first week of the 3FL.
Good luck in Week 1 and for the rest of Season 12!

3FL Notes: 2012 Draft Analysis
All but one of our teams was represented during online draft on Thursday night. Here is an analysis of the results (in draft order):
1. Renegades: It was a school night, so Val went to sleep after the first seven or so picks. I won't say which half was best, but they did earn The Toyota Best Draft Award (given by Yahoo! to the team projected to score the most points this year). Thanks, Aaron Rodgers. Grade: A-
2. THE Haw: Coach Haw decided to quadruple the number of capital letters in his team name right before the draft started. AND THEN HE WENT ON TO PICK A PRETTY GOOD GROUP OF STARTERS. He has to hope that none of them get injured, though. Grade: B+
3. Lightning: Even with all of those spreadsheets the Bolts still decided to draft Ben Roethlisberger. But other than a little RB uncertainty, this team may have a chance to take Coach Thadtotti to his first ever SuperBowl. Grade: A-
4. Yuengling Brewers: If RG3 turns out to be even half decent in his rookie season, look out for the defending champs. The rest of the team is stacked. Yahoo! autopick wins again! Grade: A
5. The Comfy Chair: This team is set for the future - the second half of the season should be great. As for the opening weeks? TOM BRADY. Grade: B+
6. Spiked Vipers: It looks like SpiVi will again be a force to be reckoned with in 2012. They are like the 2011 all-stars. We'll see if that success can be repeated. Grade: A-
7. Misfits, Inc.: The hopes of the corporation rest on the shoulders of Peyton Manning and the knees of Adrian Peterson (sorry). Megatron will set the bar for WRs again. And there is also an E-A-G-L-E thrown in for fun. Grade: B+
8. Stiletto Stompers: Looks like the QB/TE/WR first three draft strategy was pretty popular this year. The Stompers may surprise everyone with a couple of sleepers and a Matthew Stafford.
Grade: B+
9. Predacons: Their RBs and WRs are top notch. And after that, uh, you know. That's what you get when you wait until the 7th round to draft a QB. Grade: B+
10. Baltimorons: Coach Drew's team has breakout potential with a few thin spots. That's what you get when you draft two QBs in the first six rounds. Grade: B+
11. Dumbbums: There are some assumed risks with asking someone to draft for you. Your ideas and direction may or may not be taken into consideration. We'll never know which it was, but this team may be better than if Coach Coaldog was at the keyboard. Other than the guys I've never heard of... Grade: B
12. Marauders: The last pick in the draft is always a tough spot. The Marauders performed admirably, especially if their players heal from injuries sooner rather than later. Grade: B+
The Comm-nosticator makes his first predictions soon. Stay tuned.

2012 Draft Order and Divisions
Using the updated double-secret reverse reveal draft pick method and my left over Christmas card envelopes, the draft order for the 2012 season of the 3FL has been chosen. Ten of the twelve teams in the league were present during the selection process.
2012 3FL Draft Order
1. Renegades
2. the Haw
3. Lightning
4. Yuengling Brewers
5. The Comfy Chair
6. Spiked Vipers
7. Misfits, Inc.
8. Stiletto Stompers
9. Predacons
10. Baltimorons
11. Dumbbums
12. Marauders
One bit of news you may have noticed - ray ray haw has officially changed their name, effective immediately, to the haw (with the same amount of capital letters and same logo).
After some discussion we also decided to change a couple of rules. First, division winners will still be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs but the seedings will be based on the overall standings. This should help with waiver claims throughout the season and make the system more fair for the leaders of weaker divisions.
We also decided to shake up the division assignments for next season. Instead of placing teams by draft order, we're going to assign divisions based on the historical performance of their 2012 draft pick number's winning percentage. In our first 11 years those stats are as follows:
Giving us the following four divisions:
EAST
Marauders, The Comfy Chair, Dumbbums
WEST
Spiked Vipers, the haw, Stiletto Stompers
NORTH
Lightning, Misfits, Inc., Yuengling Brewers
SOUTH
Baltimorons, Predacons, Renegades
We will tentatively hold the live online draft at 9:00pm on Thursday, August 30, 2012.
Have a great off-season!
