Semifinal Games
(Winners play in 3FL SuperBowl XXV, losers play for 3rd Place)
#1 Marauders vs. #4 Baltimorons
Our top team cruised to victory last week and avoided the curse. For now. All 3 top scorers of week 16 were Marauders. Meanwhile the 'Morons snuck into the semis with the seventh lowest score of our eight playoff teams. Even so, they're going to give the one seed all they can handle. It's going to be a close one, starting tonight and ending with a single player for each team on MNF. The Marauders are projected to have the highest total for the second week in a row, and it might take 100+ to win.
#2 Renegades vs. #3 Predacons
The Renegades tied the Marauders and also scored 130 in the quarterfinals, their highest point total since week 14 of 2022. Can they keep it up? They'll face our defending champ here after the Preds were bailed out by their Kicker last week. It might be even closer than our other game in the championship bracket, with players in every time slot across the week. Can the Predacons advance to their second straight SuperBowl? Or will the Renegades earn their first title game berth since 2007?
Consolation Games
(Winners play for 5th Place, losers play for 7th)
#5 Dumbbums vs. #8 Yuengling Brewers
It was a disappointing week for both of these teams last week. The 'Bums scored well below their projections, which can easily happen when your QB puts up a zero. The Brew Crew was solid but couldn't keep up with their high flying opponent. This should be an even game, and we'll know a lot more after Saturday afternoon. Perhaps the 3 Eagles on one team will eclipse the 3 Steelers on the other. Or maybe Derrick Henry will lead the 'Bums to a comeback victory on Sunday night.
#6 Phys. Ed. Phenoms vs. #7 the HAW
PEP came close to an upset in the early evening last Sunday. In fact, they were ahead by a point for a brief minute. But it was not meant to be and they'll have to wait another year for a chance at the trophy. The CAPS ended up in the same situation as the Beermen, and he had to watch the competition get double digits from seven starters. Still, Coach HAW is in his 16th straight playoff bracket and that's quite an accomplishment. Perhaps they can up their number in the final standings with a W here.
Good luck this week! The SuperBowl awaits!!
