3FL Notes: S25: Week 17 (SuperBowl) Preview

Our champion will be from the East! The Predacons and Baltimorons both beat their higher-seeded opponents and will now meet for the title. Meanwhile the higher seeds won in the consolation bracket (where three of the four teams scored in triple digits). It was an interesting semifinal week.

This week there are seven different game times outside of the usual Sunday afternoon spots, including three today on Christmas and two on Saturday. Make sure your team is ready!

It's SuperBowl week in the 3FL!

For 7th Place:
#7 the HAW vs. #8 Yuengling Brewers
The seventh and eighth seeds will play for seventh place. Which is appropriate I guess. The CAPS scored 100 points last week but that wasn't enough for a consolation bracket win, while the Brew Crew was matched up against the highest scoring team of the week. Let's not forget that they both put up 87 points a couple weeks ago. Perhaps they'll do that again and end up in a draw.

For 5th Place:
#5 Dumbbums vs. #6 Phys. Ed. Phenoms
The fifth and sixth seeds will play for fifth place, which...you get the point. Our two highest scoring teams from last week face off to end the year on a W-2. It was one week too late for the 'Bums, who went from the lowest scoring team in the quarterfinals to outscoring everyone else in the semis. They'll be heavily favored here, but that's what was said about PEP last week, too.

For 3rd Place:
#1 Marauders vs. #2 Renegades
It seemed like this would be our championship matchup after these teams scored 130 points to start the playoffs. But it was not meant to be, as both of our teams with double-digit win totals struggled last week. They'll battle for the digital bronze trophy now, and the Marauders are projected to go over 100 points again. That would be tough to beat.

3FL SuperBowl XXV
#3 Predacons vs. #4 Baltimorons
Here we go! The Preds are back in the big game to defend their first ever title (and for a record eighth time in total). But last week they had more points on the bench (95) than in the starting lineup (92). Can they make the right sit/start calls in the biggest game of the year? Meanwhile the 'Morons have ended up here after two amazing playoff underdog victories. And they might be an underdog again. It's going to be a great matchup lasting across the entire week with at least one player on every scheduled game day.

Since both of these teams are in the same division this will be their third matchup of the year. They were both 9-5 this season, while the Preds scored more total points but the 'Morons won the East based on their divisional record. They split the season series, so the next tiebreaker goes to the higher seed. Just in case we need it.

Will the Predacons be our first back-to-back champion since years one and two of the 3FL? Or will Coach Drew be the first to earn one for the thumb? What is in store for the finale of a quarter century of fantasy football?? It all comes down to week 17!

Good luck this week!

Merry Christmas and thanks to everyone for another great season!!
